Then it would need to be rebalanced imo.
I don't think it's good for motivation if you hit the cap this early. Any other rewards gained from quests (except experience points) are pointless - if you know how to use the crafting system, you don't ever need new gear or gold as a reward.
Good points.
What unknowns do you still have?

Yeah, we need to know
If there's no level cap, there's no build variety.
If there's no build variety, no one will play the game for more than 1 session.
Then make it optional.
Where is the point if you reach max level half way through the game?
Given that you can craft better gear than you find, hitting max level really undermined the feeling of progression.
Since Re-Reck will come with all the base DLC, raising the level cap makes a lot of sense to me. Is there any final word on if the level cap is being raised?
We know that zones will now lock to your level every time you enter them (basically scaling).
This means that you will get more experience points and level up even faster.
I think they should either play with xp formula and slow the leveling down or allow higher cap (lets say 50 / 60), but make those additional levels require WAY more xp.
You can remove the level cap but still cap the number of skill points given. This allows people to continue levelling whilst retaining most of the build limitations.
