Free upgrade for owners of the original?

Any word on if owners of the original game will be given the remastered as a free upgrade?

I know THQ Nordic did it with Titan Quest Anniversary Edition and Darksiders Warmastered, but giving how this title envolves EA somehow I'm just wondering if they'll do the same here.

I don't see EA involved in this at all. THQ Nordic is listed as the sole publisher.

Personally don't care if it's given to owners of the original for free or not. Whether free or purchased, it'll be added to my Steam library one way or another.

The "base" game will have the game and all of the original content (game + originally released DLC) for $40

The Fate edition will include the new expansion, Fatesworn, and will cost $55.

There is also a Collector's edition for $100 that will include some physical items, though I'm assuming that won't be sold through Steam.

A free upgrade makes no sense, the original one was published by EA.

This was asked on the KoA Discord server and someone from THQ Nordic said "no comments on this at the moment ^^", but it's possible it will be free for current owners like what they did with other remasters in the past.
