About the procedural content
What else's procedurally generated in this game besides the map? to be honest, im looking for a game that'd keep me entertained for a bit. im not asking for 1k hrs+ like the binding of isaac, but if the game has enough random elements i'll give it a shoot!
oh also i should mention i havent played the first curious expedition. Im on a budget so i can only get one, which one do you recommend? thanks!

TL;DR: what stuff is procedural in this game? should i get this one or the first game?

The main parts of the procedural generated material is the map itself.

Though it sounds simple, changing the map, changes how you play the game quite a bit.

Also you have different characters you play as, or be part of your team. This too also changes how you play the game, verse the map you're playing on.

Right now both Curious Expedition 1 and 2 are on sale. I think it is like 4 dollars for the first one and 15 for the second.

If you're completely on the fence, try the first game. It is 4 dollars right now and my guess is that you will get about 10-20 hours of good game time playing out of it.

If you really enjoy the game, it also has the "Rivals" mode that is multiplayer setting, which could produce another 20 hours or more entertainment.

Curious Expedition 2, is a far more dense game to get through. While not perfect, it will still provide you most likely 20-40 hours of solid game play. Now if you enjoy the sort of puzzles it provides and the challenges, you could end up with a 100 hours due to how much content is packed into the game.

Short answer, try out the first game, if you like it, then put the second one on your wish list for a possible xmas sale or thanskgiving time, whenever the sales come back. :D
