The game wouldn't start for me either.
Windows 11.
I finally got the game running by removing the USB receiver for my Logitech F170 wireless gamepad from its port.
How ridiculous is that?
I tried running the .exe with admin rights directly from my install folder. Didn't work.
I tried setting compatibility of the .exe to Windows 8. Didn't work.
Removing the USB dongle did.
I quit out of the game then launched it again without the USB dongle installed and the game wouldn't launch.
I re-inserted the USB dongle then removed it, and the game launched.
But only from the .exe in the install folder.
Launching the game from inside Steam or using the Steam shortcut doesn't work.
I created a shortcut from the .exe file and labeled it 'Dirt 5 - Insert and Remove Logitech F710 USB Receiver'.
Works every time now.
But removing a USB device would have seemed the least possible solution.
