Too easy?

Got this on gamepass so not sure if it's different on Steam.... Good fun game but the ai are pointlessly easy.

I don't mean it needs to be a hardcore rally game... But I can put it on hardest and just accelerate in an almost straight line from the back of the grid to first place within 2 corners of starting and that's the last I see of the other drivers.

If I crash in a bad way maybe they catch up but it's not challenging racing even if looking from a very casual point of view.

There are different games for different audiences. The Dirt Rally series is extreme difficult, try these games if you are very skilled and want a challenge.

No, I don't want a challenge. I don't want extreme difficulty. I'm not very skilled.
I just want a fun arcade racing game with some kind of sense of satisfaction when you win.

Hey I don't care if the ai cheats a bit with rubber banding or that you spend most of the race in the middle of the pack only for it to let you overtake everyone at the last lap.
I don't mind it being easy and fun and accessible.

I'm saying the other cars literally might as well not be there. There isn't an easy challenge, there is no challenge at all.

I'm not saying it's too casual, I'm saying the ai seems to be broken.

I hear you. This is one of the few racing games where I have to set the difficulty to hardest to get a genuine race. I think Codies over-compensated for idiots like me who normally have to play the easiest setting!

the dirt rally 2.0 rallycross is easy too....like dirt 5....same AI dificulty....I'm first after 2 or 3 corners, until the end without challenge, at the hardest difficulty, like the last GRID....they really need to make challenging AI....

The Ai difficulty is still broken since launch, depending on the car and track combination, the Ai can be quite difficult, particularly with pre-runners/trophy trucks, most of the time even on the hardest setting you just leave them in the dust. Cars are easy to manage without assists + inconsistent difficulty makes this game a breeze even compared to others in the same series. The are cars that are objectively better with better stats than every other car in each class, you can tell this because only the Ai using the best cars are the ones who run at the front of the pack.

sorry to repeat, the game is boring, I'm not a fast alien, the game is just made for very very slow players....I have all the dirt, and it's always the same thing, AI are so slow for normal players.

Dirt veteran here!! "... Yep me is that old!... I'll tell you what is wrong with the game its the damn muiltiplayer.... Cast your mind back 15 years to Dirt 2 and Grid... the rooms were perfect!... been sat here most da nite been lucky just to play against 1 person at a time.... Developers listen... People will come people will love and adore this game if u do just one thing?.... Sort out some kind of muiltiplayer room where people can see how many other people are playing and join in on da game for a good battle... at the moment it's just dead in the water coz you are randomly guessing a good time to play and that aint good for nobody... Player's will just sit there and lose interest and say whats the point... That's how me's felt just hoping and praying a few more players will just join the race instead of just one or two players.... I love the game brings back a lot of memories of Dirt 2 but the online is just killing it!... please sort this out and the players will come thank you.

I won't come online if AI is bad, I put a negative review and I move away. 7.7 hours, I won't play more.

if you are cheating, I.E. using a faster car than the A.I. or using assists it is easy, if you want a challenge you need to use a slower car, set the A.I. to high and turn off the assists it aint rocket science, the game can be as difficult or easy as you make it
when using the free base cars, the A.I. can easily out accelerate you, they have faster cars at the highest difficulty setting, you can out brake them and out turn them, even though the A.I. can often appear to be riding on rails when the rubberbanding kicks in

even forza unbeatable A.I. are easy to beat if you use a fast car and good tune

ALL racing games are only as good as the online racing, racing the A.I. is only a way to learn the tracks and cars before going online and racing against real people
unfortunately the online is usually dead here

I understand what you is saying but the game isn't dead and buried yet... changes can be made to the game... It's not impossible in this day and age... example look how old Street Fighter V is by Capcom its cross network like Dirt 5 is now... that game has been going for years with regular updates... I'm sure Codemasters could make a few changes to the AI to make it a bit more difficult... As for the multiplayer cross-network I can usually hook up with another player within a minute or less with Street Fighter V I'm sure the same could happen with Dirt 5... this game isn't over yet it just gradually needs rebuilding.

the developers appear to be working on making improvements to the game
wheel support is finally working, and I agree the A.I. need work, they are not very balanced or consistent, one thing I have noticed is, if you restart an event the A.I. get nerfed really bad, making winning the event far too easy, but the first time you start an event the A.I. are a bit overpowered easily pulling away at first,

Isn't that the truth. I got dirt 2 loaded on win 10. Still love it.
