Thanks for the reply.
One thing I did think it was though, is the way it manages the VRAM and the RTX Titan and 3090 have a lot of that.
Interesting, could be a VRAM issue, but I would have thought, it would be programmed to use up to whatever is available. If you hear anymore, let us know?
I have raised this concern with Codemasters Technical support, although I have found them to ignore most of my comments and just offer another solution to try. Most of these I have tried already but will continue through the process and post back here if I have any joy. Please do the same as I'm sure there is a setting or reg edit somewhere that will resolve this.
Temps also OK here. Really don't think this is the issue as outlined.
But i know about problem witch nvidia driver's stability for gpu 3000 series...
Never had any issues with Nvidia drivers. The lastest ones are very solid with the 3090. Dirt 5 is optimised for AMD cards anyway, but this shouldn't have any effects on Nvidia cards really.
All my games run fantastic, Dirt 5. Strange really, as they had issues with the release game, produced a patch, due to the amount of complaints, however, there are still issues.
I would have thought they have had quite a few people posting to their Tech Support. Will they do anything about it???? Just have to play the game until it crashes, then re-start the game. The good thing, when it crashes, it saves the game I had just been playing, so a little bi of a bonus.
I just give up with them. I play the game until it crashes, whenever that will be? Steam seams to save where I was, so that's a plus! I then restart the game and carry on for however long it lasts!! Then I stop playing it.....
I know I shouldn't have to do that, but its all I've got really. They don't appear to be bothered, they got our money when we purchased the game!! They only patched it last time because the game was totally unplayable, so they had to do something really. Now that game crashes periodically, they are not bothered, because the game does play, but you never know for how long!!?? This really is poor for the tech people, just lazy.....
To be fair the tech support can only report want we tell them and it is up to the developers or should I say the management team to focus on a patch. I will keep them on the hook and advise all to do the same. it will then gain better traction and focus. I do the same in regards to play it until it crashes but I struggle to enjoy the experience when you are expecting it and feel more like a game tester than a gamer. Remember we paid for this no one is paying us to test bugs within a game....
Codemasters are one of the better developers in my opinion and have generally never had issues with there games in the past. I think the new console release dates was the deciding factor on the premature release and has been the focus thus far, hence the preferred AMD architecture. just my 10 cents but really think we should continue to raise issues when this has not been resolved, as I am now sure this is coding related.
Never heard of a 'Windows 10 stability pack'. no idea where that would come from other than additional updates, under Windows Updates?? never had that option ever come up....I don't really need a stability pack, as my install is absolutely rock solid to to be honest...
This isn't a Windows 10 issue, this is a Dirt 5 lazy coding issue?? (I have no other games in my Steam library that crash.....a part from Dirt 5!! all my other Codemasters games don't crash, just this one)
