DIRT 5

How is the FFB / Handling / Physics of Dirt 5 vs Dirt Rally ?
I know that DIRT 1-2-3-4-5 are arcade - but DIRT 4 aaaaalmost (not even close) copied the FFB from Dirt Rally and in some instances it actually felt like a rally sim game.

How is the take on DIRT 5 ? ... will it have good FFB even though its arcade ?
whats the goal ?

Well, I always thought the Dirt 2-3-4 series still had very good FFB for arcade games compared to the flimsy FFB in the NFS games from Most Wanted and up (latest games to have proper strong FFB were NFS The Run and Burnout Paradise). Then came the focus shift towards the consoles, and all the FFB became very very flimsy, almost non existent in those game. Only the Codemaster games remained supporting strong FFB in their arcade / sim like games.

It was practically the only reason for me to keep using my DFGT wheel with this game up to Dirt 4. Then again, I do agree having played Dirt Rally 2.0 and then going back to Dirt 4, it then does feel a bit flimsy compared to the sim game. So for sure I am also curious how this compares to Dirt 4 versus Dirt Rally 2.0 on FFB. Looking forward to the reviews once the game is released.

Correction, looking forward to the reviews once the developers after about a month implement hopefully the wheel support for the game. Since on release there is little wheel support for this game as I just read in another post.

Just check the post with the title 'DIRT 5 Wheel Support News - Major Update Planned for Late-November' and tell it to the developer.

How great it is that I get three days early access to DIRT 5 for buying the amplified edition - and won't be able to play it with the wheel :steamfacepalm: As if a wheel-player would switch back to controller for a month to change to wheel again. This early access isn't worth a mention...

Just to let you all know, this is the exact text from the post I mentioned: "It means that, on launch, there will be limited wheel support for DIRT 5. On Xbox consoles, wheel support will be temporarily disabled, whilst very limited options will be available for PlayStation consoles and PC."

In short, it seems they will support some wheels. It's just unkown what kind of support to expect at the moment and what is meant by 'very limited options'. Just need to wait and see when the game is released officially. Or check this with Youtubers who have early access to the game.
LG G920/G29 not working so far.

March 2022 Update: The FFB is actually quite awesome on my TS-XW. I raced in SCCA in the 80's and, while I've never raced on dirt/gravel, I've done a lot of drifting both intentionally and unintentionally! I was really shocked by how good the FFB and physics feel. The sensation of weight transfer is very well done - better than in many of my "serious" sims like Assetto Corsa and iRacing.
