DIRT 5

Is it me or it looks bad?
I am currently playing on a Dell G3 3590 (GTX 1660Ti Max Q, i7 9850HQ), with a mix of high and very high settings and it still looks worse than DiRT 1 and 2 on my opinion.

2D grass, low resolution textures, low poly scenary, bad particles... Just ugly! Here are some pictures.

Delivering something like this in 2020 is pretty bad
It's not you
Really hate to say it but even DiRT3 looks and drives more realistic

I feel like when you cherry-pick screenshots like that, you can make any game look bad.

I love Codemasters, GRiD, DiRT series and I waited so long for this one. A classic DiRT game, not a Rally one. They told us so many stories about the game on Twitter and it's potential. I guess we need to wait for them to fix it. My RX 5700XT struggles between 60-75fps average on max settings 1080p.

If you are struggling on max settings just drop the global illumination quality to high, literally looks the same but fps improves dramatically.

Same, I like Codemasters games but they just dropped this game knowing it's not finished.
I paid for the AMP edition, if they want some Beta testers they should pay us instead...

BTW the game has a lot of technical problems but even with those solved I'm afraid it's just an okay game...

All the vegetation and textures and scenary is bad. This are just some examples, but in any track you go they are like this.

In comparison, Dirt Rally has much better textures and scenaries, and even if you search for flaws they are better than this.

This was promised as the first true next-gen title, but it is worse than previous titles from the same franchise.

If you leave it to automatic settings, yes it looks bad, if you tweak settings (mainly resolution) it looks far better

I have it set to 2560x1440 in all three resolutions. All settings are on High and Ultra High.

I just set all 3 resolution settings to 4k res and everything else auto and it doesn't look bad at all really... Getting 90-100fps too... The settings are just horrible though... I just want vsync and hdr at this point, my TV doesn't go above 60hz anyway

If your gpu is nvidia just go to nvidia control panel and enable adaptive v-sync

Yeah something is wrong. The series x version looks better

Yeah it has some really pixelated textures even on very high. It looks great from a distance though!
Llama glama Nov 9, 2020 @ 5:05pm
What is this about three resolutions?
