This game is unplayable without direct friends with the game.
This is a message to the devs that I hope they read.

I've played the older version of this game before with a friend, who no longer uses Steam. I thought the game had a lot of potential but it was in early access so allowed it to run its course.

Now that they've made this beta game and started pushing forward development I thought it would be great to try out after so long - the game doesn't have any functionality for public matchmaking???

Not to be an annoying critic but surely it's obvious that designing a game that is only accessible to groups of people is a bad sales technique? More players than not, are solo players, and just want to join a quick online match and get into the game. Why is this not a thing?? Please make it public!

Hey there,

Thanks for the feedback; I get what you are saying, the solo appeal of MiniGolf Maker is definitely lacking and I do want to remedy that.

Public lobbies have been on the to-do list for a long time, it's just that there are a lot of situations you have to think about when joining an in-progress game, both technical and game design. The technical obstacles are mainly why I have put it off for so long. With the new Blitz gamemode coming, now might be a good time to take a look at public games again.

I also want to try and increase the solo appeal through achievements, unlockables, and maybe other things that will add some appeal for people to play by themselves.

And don't worry about being an "annoying critic", I take all feedback seriously, positive or negative, it's why I have the Ideas and Feedback forum: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1036660/discussions/2/

Sweet thanks for the reply.:wndrunk:

Achievements would definitely be a good idea, to me at least. I'm a massive achievement hunter so would definitely keep people like me on board. But yeah the game is still only a small indie game in development, which means you're very unlikely to come across people on steam who have this game. And you can't exactly convince people to get the game because you don't know what the game is like yourself because you can't play unless it's by yourself or with friends.

I have high hopes for the game, the world needs more minigolf games! Public matches should definitely be a priority, just down to the fact that it makes it unplayable for us! :(

Good luck on the project! :luckclover:
