This or the original?
Never played Grandia before, is this remaster good, I'm not sure about the visual changes (biliner filtering) but would like to be convinced otherwise

There are some minor advantages.
faster saving, japanese voices, achievements.

How's the translation? I remember reading that original game was poorly translated.
This one is great (my opinion), I enjoyed every minute of the game as I just beat it again and will start a new game to finish the achievements. Japanese VOs are amazing to listen to and I did not run into any minor or even major bug/glitches except for one at the end of the game where you step on a trap in Gaia and a monster run into you to start a battle but I glitched it when you step on the trap and start a battle at the same time it makes you never start another battle until you restart the game (I didn't even try to save and see if it messed up my save file after that, would be kinda funny if it did).

I would hold off on Grandia 2 on Steam if you can help it, I played and beat it 100% but ran into so many problems myself but it was still enjoyable to replay.

I play PS1 games still, I own Grandia for PS. The art style didn't age like blocky polygons - it is still pretty.

The only benefit is having the Steam Discussion board conveniently shown to you by owning this version. I guess also if you're a low level weeb that needs the JP Audio. High level weebs can play the original and laugh at the more bad stuff lol.

It seems the game is not cropped. It's true widescreen.

Best one is Sega Saturn one, better sprites, more textures, shadows... You can watch the difference yourself on some youtube 1:1 comparison videos.

(This remaster is based on the psx one)

Hearing the English dubs makes me cringe. Japanese voice overs for the win \o/
The sprites are inferior, but it's not like they're so bad that it gets distracting. I easily got used to them.
If I had to choose between the two, I'd opt for the superior audio.

Btw, coming from a long time FF fan, I have to say this is one helluva fun experience.
I just reached the middle point and haven't had a single dull moment.
