I cheked all the vids on *special* web site before geting into the game(cuz modern gamedev is a one big scum paty this days) and its rly look so bad. I mean the main point of the game was this XXX cutscenes no? Mby after the EA it will be better i dont know.
So far the panty animation in steam store page look 99% better then the actuall *sex* scenes in the game
They moved from SFM to UE4 so they pretty much had to learn new engine from scratch so that could part of the problem.
The scenes themselves, I honestly like them but I can understand People being dissapointed with it being mostly loops.
I really hope we Will have some kind of auto progression between scenes and possibly more camera Angles. That would make me happy.
I personally really enjoy the story; some jokes are funny and the game has a charming atmosphere. Can't say I expected much, but I enjoyed all of the content that is available for now.
I believe the game with such a budget and so much room in the game for development can make it perfect in a way for most of the players.
At least it's optimized very well which is not something you often find in other games on UE.
If they go "legit" with this game that was basically funded by their "somewhat specific" fan base that would literally burn all the bridges in the hopes of finding a new audience.
That would fail so hard it was just make me laugh.
Let's be serious here for a second. StudioFOW is known for the content they have created in the past. And any possible future "fan" for "legit" projects that might look at their previous work would simply run away screaming.
StudioFOW has an audience and that one has given them a considerable amount of money (this was one of the gaming related Kickstarter projects with a higher amount of money attached to it). They should focus on delivering the content they're good at to their audience. That alone will bring in more fans. Also all things considered there are more people that enjoy the StudioFOW kind of content than people might imagine.
But currently I wouldn't even be surprised anymore by a company losing focus of what they're good at and attempt to become bigger simply because they saw a big stack of money.
Look at what happened basically with all the big names of the gaming industry. Show me a single gaming company that has existed for at least 20 years and hasn't been completely corrupted and is throwing out garbage games these days. Sure they are highly polished games but garbage nonetheless.
I'm just emotional right now.
I donated money on a kickstarter, I waited two years for the game. And ended up getting vanilla, and all the "content" in the form of a separate mechanic in no way related to the story.
Legally, the FOW studio wasn't cheating.
But I feel like I got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard.
And I'm not the only one.
Sorry again.
It's funny how that works out.
I thought I was going to ♥♥♥♥ everyone in the game. In real, the game and the developers ended up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me.
Sorry.
If you keep quiet and say nothing. How will the developers know if they made a mistake?
If now it was in the middle of the game - yes, something to say is useless, but now only early access, the first build of the game and you can still fix it. So we have to talk about it. Encourage others to talk about it, rather than silently wait - what will happen next.
I'm glad to see ya say it though!
You right. I'm sorry, again.
There are precedents in the gaming industry.
For example, Final Fantasy XIV. When the developers received negative feedback, they closed the game and redid it completely.
The main thing is to admit to yourself that you made a mistake and try to fix it.
Let's hope for the best and for the discretion of the developers.
Most concerning to me isn't the limited amount of content avail, but the quality and ZERO interaction/context of the content. I would at least expect to see a fully functioning mechanic (cameras/interactivity/integration into story) with more content to come.
But with what is in the game now, why even bother with the Unreal Engine? There is absolutely ZERO difference between what PANDORA offers and virtually every VN avail for the last 15 years.
