Look for usefull hints or cheat.
From my experience,I can tell you this:
1. Patience is a virtue
2. Go left lane right after start (15/16)
3. Always release gas upon the building on the right. Tap brake right after second window. (10/16)
4. Ram is your friend, use it to swerve back to lane and a bit of drift. Be careful when doing ram drift because it may register direction differently than your intention; either press gas or left or right before ram
5. Take shortcut on the first 2 grass on the right and drift with Ram, first one is easier, the second one needs a bit of practice (6/16), slowdown before the left curve. (race lead will likely got accident, easy 5/16)
6. Hit brake before the climb ends, swerve carefully and go right lane when going down
7. Hit brake before entering swerve and follow the road by releasing gas. (accident, easy 4/16)
8. Take left lane before entering big-swerve, tap brake and release gas if needed, ram drift if necessary. Follow the road with ram drift, no need to go right lane.
9. Keep on the middle during the sprint, use Ram to boost and defend your position. No need to Ram other cars as 1 or 2 will overtake you. Keep calm and ignore them. (6/16)
10. Repeat
if you must ram a car hit it from the back, if you try to side swipe you're going to get the wheels interlocked and guarantee a loss.
I only played the original mafia back when it released. I cant remember much about the game (besides the fact that i loved it). But what i remember exactly is that damn race, and that it took me a day to win it.... a day as in about 8 hours. -.-
I remember exactly you had to do a perfect race. 1 mistake and u were out.
However, if you've ever played a driving sim, ever, with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, poor handling car then this mission really isn't that difficult, at least not compared to say getting all gold in the license tests in Gran Turismo.
That said the mission does require you to actually know how to drive an old car fast, not to make mistakes and know where you can 'cheat' (shortcuts).
Annoying how people give up so quick nowadays.
If you cannot beat original race then I guess you are dumber than teenage dummy like me. Maybe you should go waste 250k on a poor investment like a college education or learn how to drive in real life perhaps? Trust me learning how to drive will not only save you more money in the long run than a college education, it will keep you and your family safer. You can literally find trade union jobs that require no college education that will pay not only far better wages than most college education jobs, they will have much better health benefits, pensions, and 401k retirement plans. College really is a joke in America anymore.
