Team Cherry doesn't deserve the respect of this community, but neither do we deserve a good game...
After months of silence, with such an active community, Team Cherry don't deserve a successful release not the respect of their community. I know that people will still choose to forget how they've been ignored for more that a year and buy the game anyway, but this is just another example of why modern-day gaming is no more than a ♥♥♥♥ cash grab. There is no consideration for the community or the fans.

On the other hand, this community also doesn't deserve a better gaming circle. Feels completely bipolar to bash a developer to eternity only to forget it all once a game is released. You don't deserve to get more respect, because you choose to be blind to how these developers use you and your addiction in new releases.

IMO, if the game is good, they deserve a good release. Their advertising/PR is basically non-existent, which is a problem, but it's not a major issue.

Just play other games, live life, and check for Silksong news once every few months. (Or, based on how things have gotten, check every couple of years.)

It blows my mind how few people know this game started out as a simple DLC that would let you play as Hornet in Hollow Knight.

It then branched off into a full fledged sequel as it grew bigger and bigger. So this notion that if they said they would release it back in say 2021 or something that was based on the original premise of "Oh yeah it's just allowing you to play through the original HK as Hornet."

Team Cherry also said they would have made HK way bigger and more impressive if they had more Money at the time. SS is Team Cherry with millions of dollars backing them which allows them to make the game they want to make.

No.
Just no.
There are 9 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ people working to bring a quality product for millions of people.
If they release so much as a drop of information regarding the game’s development media outlets will be on that ♥♥♥♥ in a blink of an eye and expectations will either skyrocket or fall flat.
Again, this pressure is being put on 9 people..

I was hyped for Silksong, like 2-3 years ago. Now i couldn't care less whether this game finally will be developed or not. One thing is clear for me: something bad is happening with Team Cherry and their game.

Yeah I had a similar thought to this. Something has to have gone wrong. If it drops out of nowhere tomorrow then I’ll be grabbing it hahaha but yeah the hype and excitement has completely evaporated for me. We haven’t seen it in a long time and I don’t expect we will see it for a long time. For all we know it could have gotten so huge and they realized “uh this is not a good game. We gotta start over.” Or maybe they’re rebuilding it in a completely different engine. They’re not telling so it’s anyone’s guess.

Dude, how old are you? Normal people don't pay so much attention to how long this zalupa has been in development and just play other games. When the game comes out, we'll draw conclusions. It's simple.

You're literally describing yourself right now. Because I'm sure when it releases, you'll be one of the first to get Silksong. Regular people aren't the ones bashing the game or devs. If you, or others, can't handle that developing a game takes time. They you should stop funding kickstarters/early access games.

Rather than being a paragon of misery, blame and petulance, why don't you try modelling and projecting patience, maturity and understanding? The game isn't ready so go do something else until it is. Nobody "deserves" a good game - if a good game is made, people will flock to it and make the devs a whole lot of money. The devs don't "deserve" a "good community" - if they make a good game, they will deserve the money and appreciation that comes with their efforts. Stop thinking of it in such personal terms - it's making you unwell and toxic.

Please Team Cherry, just take your time. But maybe some informations would be nice.

ok there is 1.8 hours of game play per dollar for hollow knight. the game cost 15 bucks btw with 3 free dlc that with those its more. plus 112% will take longer. for tears of the kingdom there is 1.66 hours of game play per dollar. the game cost 70 bucks -_- so by your logic tears of the kingdom is a cash grab. also the definition of a cash grab video game is a game that try's to make as much money from the players with as little effort as possible. hollow knight took 5 or 6 years to make, has 3 free dlcs. and cost only 15 dollars for a game that i have played for around 300 hours. think about that now. Forgot the say only 9 people are working on this game. and even less worked on hollow knight.

I guess suffice to say, they've made a lot of predictions about release windows in the past, and none of them panned out. I understand the pain. I'm waiting for Star Citizen to be ready for prime time. Silksong is peanuts compared to Star Citizen in terms of delays (even though SC has an open alpha but HK:Ss doesn't).

For both games, it's hard, but the only thing we can do is wait and be patient. The devs of both games have a lot on their plate, and they're biting off more than they can chew. But they're going to work things down the best they can.

As far as Silksong is concerned, they've made and missed release windows. But I'm hearing something might be announced on June 9th. Let's see if they have a solid release day, or just another release window. I'll be taking it with a grain of salt, of course. If they miss the next release window, I have other games to enjoy as well. So it's no big deal... until it actually does come out.

It'll come out one day. It'll probably come out during a time when most of us least suspect it... aside from Team Cherry, and anyone else with insider knowledge about whether the game is finally ready to come out. They'll probably give us a firm release date, and the last thing we expect is the game to actually come out on that day.

A good developer would keep their fans in the loop.

There's nothing to tell, they're still working on the game. We got an update months ago, saying that.
