Not Runic games thats why it isnt as good
If people read storepages carefully they will see that 1 and 2 were by Runic Games dev and this one by Echtra Inc dev , hence why it doesnt match up to one and two imo (from what im reading)

You didn't read enough, because Echtra Inc is literally Max Schaeffer the same guy who founded Runic which went under.

When that one guy is Max Scaeffer, who was the lead dev on Diablo 2... it kind of does. Anyone even remotely responsible for TL1/TL2 left Runic games after TL2.

The fact that it is not the EXACT same dev team says it all, as to the quality differences in the series.

As i said ONE guy , a top football coach could lead a team to victory, but if the team itself changes they might not do as well.

Please enlighten us then the reason why this is not being liked as much as 1 and 2 , IF its totally the same team , you see my point.

Your trying to backpeddle when called out on your shallow research is hilarious. You've made your point, you don't want to play this game. Now move on and stop trolling like a petulant child.

Not trolling actually stating the obvious, the team itself is different and the product is too.
Oh i loved 1 and 2 and looked forward to this , but not with everything im reading , how delusional you are.

'The team itself is different' where is the evidence of that? Runic went under, and everything i have read/seen is that it is still mostly the same people, still under Scheffer but a new name. That is more than one person. People try to claim that the most well known name is the sole person who remained, but he was the recognizable name in Runic as well. And looking at the video that PW/This company put out when they shifted from a Freemium game to this one, more than a few were part of Runic who stayed with Schaeffer.

It is the same people, but people are grasping at straws to justify their hatred of a subpar game and refuse to remove rose tinted glasses.

He said in an interview that he didn't want it to be a diablo 2. What kind of idiot makes diablo 2 and says something like that? Diablo 2 is still THE arpg today, cannot be touched.

Max Schaefer is here tho. he created Diablo together with Bill Roper... who also failed at everything after Diablo. I see a pattern.

A bit further into the game, and it might be because I played TL 2 to death, but I think I'm actually enjoying this at least as much as TL 2. A different team under the same "coach" can also turn out to be better than the prior one. It's still early days, but imho this could be a great TL game.

Personally speaking, I played Diablo 1 and 2 for many years. I actually enjoyed both Torchlight 1 and 2 a LOT more than Diablo. Much more than Grim Dawn, too. The art style, animation, and overall tone appealed to me a lot more. And playing TL1 with a controller was an absolute blast that saved my wrist. That last bit is a major selling point for me with TL3.

As for the original post, it's still way too early to see if it's good or bad. Which is why I'm waiting it out until it's actually finished. However, I already know that once it is, it's pretty much insta-buy for me. And I don't mind paying full price for a real, honest to goodness Torchlight game that has native controller support.

He also brought on a bunch of other Torchlight 1 and 2 devs who wanted to create another Torchlight game. They've talked all about this in Livestreams.
