We need an option for offline MULTIPLAYER.

Don't be misled here - they do plan to have offline single player when the game fully releases, but what is the point of that if you are unable to connect to friends like in previous games while offline?

There NEEDS to be offline multiplayer added in to this game for the official release or else it is a step back from previous entries in the series.

You can do something simple like only allowing online-only characters to play together and only allowing offline-only characters to play together, but just because a character is made "offline" does not mean it should have no access to multiplayer functionality!

Please share your support so we can make this change happen.

How do you think people play multiplayer game back then when there's no Internet? Have you ever heard LAN party?

Please dont put offline mode into the game. i realy like the idea of an online tl3. srsly. Especially the Forts etc profit from online-mode. if you put offline into the game, no one will play online. People has just to deal with it that an ONLINE-game has no offline mode.

This actually CONFIRMS the concern listed in the OP, that if you want to play offline you will only be able to do it solo which is a huge downgrade from TL2 with local LAN play.

Yes, please add LAN support for the full game so the multiplayer portion of Torchlight 3 will live on when the official servers go down!
