Game freezes after clicking anything
Haven't been able to try the game yet because I can't get anywhere. Before the patch today, my game would load to a black screen with the mouse cursor stuck in the top left. The game would automatically close after 20-30 seconds.

But today, post-patch, I can load the game up to the title screen. However, if I click anywhere inside the game window, the game freezes entirely & only task manager can close the game window.

It's only mouse clicks that are freezing the game. Keyboard doesn't seem to cause the crash. Example: I can press ALT+ENTER to switch from Windowed to Full Screen and back to Windowed without crashing.

Pastebin of my latest log file: https://pastebin.com/2zF0Z08W
Basically, everything seems to load fine, then I click, then this log entry starts repeating rapidly: [549]LogSlate: FSceneViewport::OnFocusLost() reason 2

Out of curiosity, as I have seen a similar bug, can you try plugging in a controller to see if you can play the game?

Sure, so I just tried it with a Dualshock 4 controller. I could indeed control the game, watch the intro, and start making a character. However, when I edited my name, my controller stopped working. I hit every button, eventually clicking the touchpad & freezing the game.

Tried it again and managed to finish character creation. But I've always played Diablo with a mouse and keyboard, so I clicked... and crashed the game again.

I'm not running much software aside from the game. My Nvidia drivers are up to date. I'm using a legit copy of Windows. My basic specs are below:

Home built tower
Ryzen 7 2700X, stock speeds
16GB DDR4 @ 3000MHz
RTX 2080 Super
Razer Basilisk wireless mouse
Game files are stored on an SSD running off a PCI-E card.

If you'd like me to try anything else, I'd be happy to.

I received this info as troubleshooting to the issue that might be occurring here: https://windowsreport.com/unable-initialize-steam-api/

No luck. I'm not in a Steam beta program, I've allowed Torchlight 3 and all Steam apps through the firewall, and I have tried running the game after running Steam as an the same problem of click = freeze & crash. I've even tried to run Frontier.exe manually as an Administrator just to test, and even that crashes on click. There's nothing in my Event Viewer logs that shows any application or system errors.

If I wait around long enough, the frozen window will auto-close, and the log will end like this with no new information:

My day job is being an IT consultant for businesses, so I'm pretty well equipped to find fixes or workarounds to things like this. But so far, your game simply doesn't want me to click my mouse :( Is there any way I can get you a more detailed log or capture some relevant data?

Yes! Can you find me in Discord so I can troubleshoot with you in a slightly easier/quicker fashion? I am Echtra Bean on there.

OK, thanks. I'll message you tomorrow. It's getting a bit late for tonight. Since I see there's a wipe on the horizon, I'm not freaking out about not playing for a bit :P
