Next time you buy a game do a little research.
The forums and review section are filled with negative feedback about this game.
The devs basically cut and run, again - just like they did with their last game, HOB.
I was just moaning because I am annoyed at paying twice for a game that doesn't do what I paid twice for.
I was hoping someone would have a solution or would reply that they are in a similar boat or something.
your solution is request a refund, when in the refund section, tell them your issue about the co-op not being a function despite it being advertised as co-op and that its false advertising.
steam are pretty good at giving exceptions, providing you dont abuse the system. I myself have had a refund on a multiplayer game, as it stated on the store page that it was *single player* yet it was competitive pvp only. i was only a week in, not a few months like yourself, but i had dropped about 8-9 hours in to the game which is well beyond their 2hour limit. but none the less they granted me a refund.
Give it a try, nothing to lose.
Generally saying that you can't play this game in co-op isn't right though. I played the game with my girlfriend. We only had the problem a few times that one of us couldn't invite the other.
For us, it always helped when we couldn't invite via the friends list to go back to the character selection, then go to the Trevail Outpost and invite via the "Players in your area" tab. This ALWAYS worked for us and we were able to play together.
But if you say that you can invite each other but can't play together, there must be some reason for that (apart from the fact that it might be one of the many bugs that this game unfortunately has).
- Are you playing on the same difficulty level?
- Do you both have multiplayer selected?
- Have you tried changing your online status on Steam?
- Have both of you finished the "Intro" and left the starting region?
- Can you test if it works with other players?
No joy they are not buying it (if you pardon the pun).
Refund refused.
I genuinely would like a refund dude (at least for one of the games we bought) and it genuinely does not work.
There have been several games that promise co-op playing and when we try it it ends in failure, getting sick of throwing money away. Usually in the old days you could just buy one copy of the game and play locally.
This Steam thing forces you to buy the game TWICE and then it doesn't work.
If we wanted to play single player we would have only bought ONE copy and shared the game. Paying twice is what irks me.
I will try those suggestions though.
If you and your girlfriend are still interested in playing TL3 together, you could test the things already mentioned above. If you need someone else to test, just let me know - I'd be happy to help.
I was still playing multiplayer yesterday with no problems, so there must be some problem you just need to figure out ;)
The guidelines for a refund on Steam are less than two hours of playtime within two weeks of purchase. After that, the chances of a refund being accepted decrease. However, it is possible to get a refund even over these time periods. But you need appropriate reasons for this. If you are already frustrated and don't want to deal with the game anymore, you can try to get a refund again. If this didn't work, you can also use the "I have a question about this purchase" button. There you should politely describe your problem, explain what your previous efforts were to fix the problem and explain that you want a refund.
Hope this helps!
Just because you want to snap up a bargain when it arises doesn't mean that you would be testing and playing it right away.
In the UK we have consumer rights where a 2 week time limit would be quite illegal but I guess that doesn't apply to Steam.
Many thanks for your assistance.
Will let you know how it goes just in case you might be interested.
Thanks, I would appreciate it and maybe there are other players with the same problems who are interested in your solution if it works.
