Couch COOP

Currently just shows Online co op and most likely that won't change. Even TL2 on console doesn't have local co op.

From what I could tell from the ARC Launcher days, it's not setup for that.

I have a feeling that it will continue with the likes of Single-player with always Online Multi-player.
But we shall see. At least the changed the damn name. Made it sound like a spin-off instead of the 3rd game.

I agree but it's not going to happen. Even if they added it they would probably only add it to the console version but even those chances are slim since they didn't add local co op to the console version of TL2.

so far i'm just thankful it has controller support, so i can play from the couch. next step would be local/couch coop (like Gauntlet or Victor Vran, which i play with my housemate). that would be amazing, but i honestly don't expect it to happen. looking forward to trying Minecraft Dungeons for that though.

While Minecraft Dungeons should be fun I doubt it has the depth of true ARPGs with couch co op like say Chronicon, Van Helsing, Chaosbane, or Vikings Wolves Of Midgard. I feel these games are often overlooked or under estimated particularly Chronicon.

Vikings and Van Helsing don't have couch coop; I'll check out Chaosbane though, thanks.

Shallower games work well for me with coop, since there is not so much to remember between sessions. That's why Gauntlet was so great.

Deeper ARPGs might have to stay single-player for me, so I could play more regularly, and avoid waiting 10 mins on a buddy to compare weapon stats, manage inventory, choose a new skill... >__>

But if any ARPG could do it, I think Torchlight would be great as a shared experience.

Controller support is number one.
I'd be happy to pay quite a bit extra if it meant having a dynamic shared/splitscreen local coop such as Divinity Original Sin.

D3 only has couch co op on consoles.

Minecraft Dungeons is super fun but it does lack depth of other games. Chaosbane and Chronicon are the only couch co op ARPGs on PC with a lot of depth that I am aware of.

After playing TL3 in its current state it is dumbed down compared to 2 and Chaosbane and Chronicon are better itemization wise.
