Does it require you to add a second healthy Soul card? I can't recall.
Oh I am well aware lol, but Nectar has been incredibly hard to come by, and I accidentally burned my phost by not making sure the book didn't have any...problems.
This is my second playthrough after a victory, I'm well versed in the mechanics at this point so I'm reasonably sure this was a bug and not player error; unfortunately, until I can find a bed that has Nectar (or scale would work) I'll have to wait and find out, otherwise no way I'll get that Nectar high enough.
Ok not entirely true, I might have other liquids but pretty sure only substances that would be useful at this point, and even if that's not the case don't really want to burn more liquid finding out if this is, in fact, a bug.
If the title did change and it still didn't remove the malady then maybe it is a bug
The malady is the thing that happens to your soul if you try to catalog/read a book with the soul part that debuff affects. Maladies have to be cured at a bed.
@OP I was able to cure my Fascinated Phost with a Sacrament Malachite in the servant's quarters. I then reloaded, swapped beds to Solomon's and tried again. I was able to successfully cure it in Solomon's bed using the same steps you gave.
I cannot replicate the bug.
