Materials (Metal, Fuel, Clothes)
Are there any stable sources of metal, fuel and clothes outside of the house? Do I have to rely only on thing I can find in the house?

Fuel, yes, there are several recipes.
There's one recipe that I know of that turns Glass into a metal.
Woven items I'm not sure, but there is a workbench that reduces woven items to rags.

It kind of depends on what you mean by "stable sources". Apart from beachcombing and walks you're always limited to what you can find in the house.

Nothing reliable I found for metal, but you can get them by scavenging on the beach or in the moor, but it's random, and your best bet are randomly finding packages that contain random items.

For fuel, you can make various candles by gathering beeswax in your garden and using a candle-making skill. Not sure about cloth, but there is a loom, so you can probably weave something there? Despite beating the game, I barely interacted with a lot of the crafting stations in the game.

There's no stable source for any of them, although sometime you can find packages at the beach that can contain one of those.
However, you can craft a Metal, Gervinite, without needing a Metal but Glass instead, making it an unlimited source of Metal. No equivalent for Fabric that I know of.

You can make 2 different types of metal one is from glass(that you can make) and the other is transforming metal into a different type of metal.

Fuel you can make the strongest stuff in the game at 5 forge with no real commitment.

Fabric you only really have what's in the house and what you find in washed up packages. Currently it's not that huge because the bonuses you can get only slightly make Mrs. Kille better than a bar hire and you shouldn't even need fabric if you're doing crafting.

Fabric lets you make Mommets, which as of the latest patch have become a pretty great Device.

Mommets are Grail.
Unique Hire(4)+Memory(2)+Ereb(2)+Rubywise Ruin(4)+Tool(1)=13

Like I said, fabric you shouldn't even need if you're crafting. Mommet is only needed for cracking the final rooms, and that's only if you don't craft memories, use Numens, or use pigments which would put you at 14-17.

I've only found 1 recipe that "reliably" makes cloth, a 15 difficulty Heart recipe using Drums and dances on an instrument (drums are most reliable) , which makes Swaddled Thunder out of a chain of memory card recipes (god i love how ridiculous some of these chains can get)

other than that, there's a 5 difficulty knock recipe to make memories into glass, and 10 knock to make glass into metal

in therms of fuel, all the options i've found have already been mentioned here

You know, you're right. For some reason I thought that item needed fabric to make. Must have been because I was doing all the Heart skills around the same time and was thinking Frith-Weft was needed since a skill that can make the Keeper makes Frith-Weft as a scholar.

EDIT: Since there is technically a reliable way to make fabric then maybe the Mommet is more viable than I originally thought. Still it's rough that it's a Keeper recipe to make the fabric while Metal and Fuel are Scholar.

Great, thanks for answers. Could you give recipes and findings for mid-tier fuels and metals? Things around 5 forge etc.? I run out of them and I want to play with crafting to unlock more rooms.

since you got most of the info available, i'd recommend adding Glassfinger Toxin to that list for a potential forge liquid in case it's necessary

I don't see anyone talking about (I avoid spoilers like the cops), but there are at least two places you can keep visiting to try and harvest stuff - I have no idea if there's metal or what kind of stuff is there, since I haven't turned my focus to those places yet... but remember the game is more than just the Hush House

Yes, you can get sand sometimes from the beach, which can be used as glass.
But an Amethyst Ampoule can be made reliably.

Not sure if you mean GOOD Fuel, but there are a bunch of things that act as fuel.

Candles ( I think only the ones you craft are Fuel )
Beeswax
Various wood logs from the Moor
Those stacks of paper lying around ( not sure if you can get more of those though )

Most of those aren't great, there is 1 candle that is good but it is made from plants gotten during Nume. There is a Log from the Moor that is good, but I think it is rare to gather.

Note that the beach in winter gives TONS of sand, and all sand have the Glass aspect; this is helpful to make metals.
