Black Bars Fix [OUTDATED]
This post is a bit old now, so just try latest reshade with fubax-shaders aspect ratio. However some on-screen elements may disappear.

And then this file and extract directly into game folder:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TIL_z2KZ0bg01TSWuVSe8W9_WQuvEgRj/view?usp=sharing

Then after you launch the game and don't wish to bother with the Tutorial just exit the game and go into game folder edit ReShade.ini TutorialProgress= set that to TutorialProgress=4

Its as simple as that, putting those files in the main directory the first zip will put reshade-shaders folder and opengl32.dll into game folder and the 2nd file adds more files to reshade-shaders folder. Then you just launch the game once or twice (probably twice) and you're done.
Ummmm, I've done everything you said but it didn't work .-.
Do I need to do something on ReShade? I mean, after pressing "Home"
Magnify and reshade settings checked

Do I need anything more than these two files? Sorry about it, it's cause I really don't know about modding and reshading .-.

It should work with those 2 downloads.

Awesome job, but really wish square would have done this. Everyone should be paying you instead of them.

I can't help you must be doing something wrong and there is too much of a language barrier to explain.

Is this community full of dinguses who don't understand how aspect ratios work?

This is not a fix. All it does is stretch the image, making everything look unnaturally wide, which you can already do through your video card drivers. The game assets were rendered in 4:3 and that is how the game was meant to be viewed. You can't convert it into true widescreen.

Yeah, I kinda understand that, the thing is, is that I usually don't use softwares or mods and etc
I just download the game and play it lol, I did everything the tutorial says, but my game still has Black Bars, the ReShade inside the game doesn't recognize the ReShade.ini file

Do yourself a favor, delete this silly mod and play with the black bars. That's how it's meant to look. The black bars are there because your monitor is larger than a TV screen from the 90s which the game was designed for.

You don't need to be THAT rude... The old version of VIII also was 4:3 on preset but there were way of stretching it

I don't use aspectratio.fx
What are the one you use? Because I downloaded magnify but there weren't any Magnify options
By the way, if it helps, I plan on playing at 1600x900 (the window size, in the case)

Magnify is from an older version of ReShade you change its options by editing BasicFX.cfg in the reshade-shaders\Shaders\Reshade folder.

You would need different values for 1600x900

Read the OP please

I stated the info about this already in the OP
