Roses and Wine Mod?
Visually apart from the backgrounds I am enjoying the FFVIII Remaster. But what I miss from my 2013 version is the Roses and Wine mod. I've gotten so used to the remixed and redone music I can barely remember much of the original soundtrack. Anyone think that we will see a version of the Roses and Wine mod that could work with this version of FFVIII???

I hope we will se that but probably not anytime soon. You can ask the author himself if you are brave enough...

I'll have to settle for muting the game and playing the black mages version of Force your way. Probably the best redone song of the lot

You can still replace the music with the zzzarchive extracter program. You want to extract the "other.zzz" file in the main final fantasy 8 remastered folder look for "music" folder and replace the music you want and then extract it back to "other.zzz" file. http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=19209.0

If you want to check out some livestream gameplay of mine with some music replacing the batte theme, boss battle, balamb theme, julia playing the piano and the pub scene with her, the landing scene, and Deling city. Check them out here:

Hope this helps....

Even though Leon is correct, I rather would have linked to a site where the way to extract and repack the music files is described a little bit better:
https://www.nexusmods.com/finalfantasy8remastered/mods/3

Even though I have to admit, that there are still users that seem to have issues (like seen in the comment section of that mod). :(
It worked for me on first try to fix that file.

And as Leon told, you can simply replace any music file which is nothing I have to do as I enjoy the original PSX soundtrack. :)

@LeonX I am following these steps and it seemed fairly easy, basically the same as doing it manually on the 2013 release, but when I create the new "other.zzz" the game is losing all sound and then crashing upon attempting to load a song. would you know what the issue might be

nevermind haha figured it out, you have to overwrite the files on a fresh extract, I was using the edited one I made originally. awesomesauce

I don't understand where we get the music files to replace? How do we extract the music from the Roses and wine exe installation file?

Would it be possible for someone that knows how to do this to just packs it up a re-upload of the main.zzz with roses and whine already integrated? I know how to do the other mods but i can't seem to get it to work with the custom music

It is possible to use some thing like "Free Magic" in Remastered ? I mean, cast magic without consuming it from the stock (it can be used in the 2013 version with the Roses and Wine)

I was able to get it to work by using the Demaster tool that gives access to the music files. Then I just copied and paste the roses and wine music files to the music folder and renamed them to the naming structure FF8 Remaster uses.

I used demaster, accessed the music folder to copy the name of each file and then paste that name via “rename” to the RaW files and dragged them over but it’s still playing the old music. I don’t even understand how that’s possible with the original files not there.

Please someone help
