You need to read the instructions to set up first scenario. Its a little tricky at first.. I’ve designed several missions using the editor, to test it’s capabilities and the game in general. So far my experiments with the editor have worked out very well.
In contrast to “Knight of the sea” , “South Gambit” the editor builds encrypted . msd mission files not .py or .xml.
The Good. I have been using the editor to build a variety of working simple missions (.msd) involving all the ships, aircraft, map land etc. Also I’ve been able change mission weather and maps too . The friendly and enemy AI seems to work properly. Overall, the editor is a good sandbox for building simple missions for experimenting with all the models and game assets.
The Bad. Using the editor I have not been able to use “Triggers ” or “Events”. They don’t appear to be linked to the editor (e.g. the “mission_dictionary” ). So far I have been unsuccessful correcting the trigger and event linking, so it has not been possible to build interesting custom missions with , objectives, message text, triggers, final ending mission results etc. Its a pity, because it could be a really a good editor for building complete interesting missions if this could be solved.
Has anyone else gotten the editor to work? I also would appreciate any ideas of how to fix the Editor’s Triggers and Events linking mentioned above.
