cant complete the catching the thief thingy quest

what do i have to do? i kinda try staying in the church but nothing happens, is this mission full of bugs?

assuming your talking about the quest Collections, in TIrin's Rest? :
Note:
Confront Florian in the church else the quest will be bugged.

general rule with this game, (as there are sadly so many possible bugs, never to be patched), get a new quest you havent done before, check the wiki, to avoid spoilers scroll down to the Notes/bugs section and check if any possible bugs may occur

kinda sucks to do it that way, but some of the possible bugs in the game are of gamebreaking nature(specially in Main Quest or Faction quest lines), so always good to check the possible bug list

uh that sucks, well since it was a side quest i didnt directly do it so i oversaved some stuff, well anyways, guess i cant finish that one(or i just attack her to make sure that the mission dissappears? :D )

yea should work, killing her should make it fail and go away
(ofcourse you will have that painful "failed mission" reminder in the character stat section, but unless you are OCD i suppose that wont hurt)

i just hate it that there is an uncompleted mission left, failed one is acceptable, but the endless missions are really a pain in the... well you know(these where u get money for bringing stuff)

yea, the task are hugely frustrating, took me i dont know how long + a web search to realize they didnt go away/can't be completed, really messes with that "Clear all" ocd, painful like nails on a blackboard hehe
