You can get 2 full sets with DLC, some you get via quests such as House of Ballads and as you have found you pick up odd bits on the way. You can either save bits to your stash until you have the complete set or if the bits you have are good individually wear and repair them because the bonuses as you can see are enhanced according to how many pieces you have so even 2 pieces are better than 1 etc. plus if your'e that keen you can always look on the WIKI

Well the best way to farm sets as far as i know is to fast travel around and kill threshers, ettins, Banshaen, Leanashe, Niskaru tyrants and trolls.

A good farming route i found was Ettins and the thresh in Ettinmere -> the trolls around and inside Haxhi dam -> Forsaken plains trolls and leanashe -> Skoria Mines Niskaru tyrant in Apotyre.

I tried to get every set item in the game that way, takes a lot of time though and might not give you everything since npcs also have a chance to have those items on them. So if you want every item you'd have to check every pocket as well.

Yeah I think the way sets work in the game is not good. There's quite a number of different sets meaning your chances of getting stuff from unrelated sets is high, and they're not doled out frequently enough to get extra pieces in time to be worth it. I.e. by the chance you luck into getting even just the second item in a set, you'll more than likely have out-leveled it and be getting better stuff from basic green and blue drops, even taking the set bonuses into account.

That said, from what I read you can farm sets with the Legend of Dead Kel DLC. Apparently after completing that DLC or some quest line in it you get the ability send out scouting ships on expeditions and they'll come back after 24 hours with a random piece of high quality loot. So you can save, sleep, and "re-roll" these missions to try and collect sets.

Just to re-hash and old topic; I came here in hopes of finding out why I can't get a full set of armour before it becomes obsolete... but I suppose i just got my answer... just poor planning in the creation phase. I've tried three times to get a full set of armour for my char, and so far the closest I got was 2 pieces before they were obsolete; and the only set I did get, came with the DLC, and that was for a Warrior... which my char is not (that really sucked).

Oh Well... at least I know!!!

Set armors aren't particularly good most of the time stat-wise, apart from the unique looks. Sometimes separate pieces of unique armor can excel at both areas.

Yes... I'm aware of that, and that's what I've been going with. But it's the Unique Look that I wanted with the sets... but oh well... right? :)

Well there's a set you get for playing the Mass Effect 3 demo, or at least you used to get one. You might have better armour than it on you depending on how far you are in the game though.

For me I find many of the Might armor sets rather horribly looking, and just can't wait to switch back to separate pieces of unique armor within minutes(literally). Screw the stat bonuses.

Seems to me all the attention has went into making Finesse and Sorcery armors.

LOL - The grass is always greeener.... I bugs me that everything I find is for Warrior... and sometimes Sorcery; but I rarely find something really great for Finesse.

I'm still not entirely sure if the drop rate is affected by the destiny you've chosen for your character, it does appear gears drop fairly evenly for all three perks. Now it is worth mentioning that the KoA Wikia provides a lot of details on where one can obtain specific pieces of equipment, just in case you have enough of running randomly around and opening an excessive amount of chests.
