Mods for Amalur?
So I love Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, particularly for it's setting in rich Celtic folklore but for its great gameplay and gamefeel. But it's far from a perfect game. For one; limited storage space when you have a bunch of lore rich items and books; what were the devs thinking?!

So to fix this issue and others, as well as to add on to the experience, I was hoping there was a modding community for this game. Does anyone know of any mods for Amalur?

You can probably use a trainer to give yourself unlimited bag space.

Really? That would be grand!

There are also two locations that spawn backpacks infinitely as long as you kill the merchant afterwards and sleep for around 4 days.

There are not much mods for KoA:R. You have the widescreen fix, the fxaa injector (originally intended for skyrim, but works for koa:R as well) and there's sweetfx.
There were some mods posted at the official forum, which is down by now. but it is archived. read here:

And there is the helix mod:http://helixmod.blogspot.com/2012/02/kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning.html
Just search a bit with google.

Thanks a lot! Glad to hear there are some, though I heard they are few and far because modding this game is apparently very difficult.

As far as i understand only a few have taken up the task of modding, because there were no modding tools and also because the community wasn't big. Probably the game wasn't that popular, but that could be because of the agressive drm.

Actually the game was popular and the devs planned on releasing some form of limited modding tools, but the studio went bankrupt shortly after the second DLC was released.

I'm fairly sure it was released by someone high up in the studio having some idea of the impending disaster, and that they were basically doing everything they could do to get it out before it was too late.

it's really just a big shame that the needed patch wasn't ever finished, nor the planned Modding tools.

It's an even bigger damn shame that it was released so closely to Skyrim, and compared unfairly to it.

Reckoning wasn't a Skyrim style game, and it wasn't ever really intended to be one. It was more of a modern graphics style reimagining of The Secret of Mana..

Right down to it's bad ass action combat system, and multiple weapons and combat styles.

By far the best mod out there is the Heartcore mod (latest version is called YSA). Changes difficulty and things like exp pacing to make the game much more challenging. I'm playing with it at the moment. It's a bit of a pain to fire up each time but worth it. It works through a program called Cheat Engine, which I also used to permanently edit inventory space. There's a youtube vid that shows you how if you google it.

Yeah YSA is awesome. The vanilla game is kiddy-game easy really, even on hard, but with that mod it's a genuinely great action rpg.

this thread was dead for about 2 years and some month till you posted your comment 7h ago xD
.... and yet i am here, having installed the game after years again and thinking/missing the same mods and modding possibility, you just mentioned :,(

I've actually reinstalled it myself a month or two back, and am now playing it and loving it anew. Though good lord the inventory space is frustrating and annoying.
