Already owned on Origin, can I continue with Steam?
I own this game on Origin, but I saw the DLC was cheaper on Steam, so I bought it here.

Is there a way to import my old save into this version, so I can use my current character on the new content?

Right now when I launch through Steam, it starts Origin and launches the game, but none of the DLC shows up.

Did you only buy the DLC through steam? Because I'm pretty sure you can't client mix.

Edit: Other threads seem to imply you can? Dunno.

No. I don't think Steam will let you even buy the DLC unless you own the base game too on Steam.

I scored the game previously elsewhere on the cheap, of which it required me to register via Origin. I don't expect that they'd allow us to match up our Origin and Steam accounts, but it would be nice to bring this lonely Origin game into my Steam collection - without a duplicate purchase. I'd probably play it more too if I could Steam it.

I'm kinda frustrated about that right now too. Bought it (in a real shop) registered it with origin and I'd really like to get the dlcs but after paying full price for the game when it was new, I don't really want to pay another 20 bucks for the dlcs. So if I were to buy the dlcs here, but not the game itself, would that work? (I'm guessing not, but the info in this thread seems a bit mixed) Does someone have a DEFINITE answer?

I am not 100% sure but I believe that you can.

i have been able to use steam keys for ea games to also add the game to origin. see if the dlc has it own keys and put them in origin. other wise a copy and past should work, if the save files are in different folders. who cares what drm u use to play it. steam and origin are the same thing in different shirts. honestly orgins support has been better for me.

Requires the base game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning™ on Steam in order to play.

The DLC will not work on Origin. Just like all the Sims DLC doesnt.

Sorry for the confusion, I bought a whole new game and the DLC. In summary, I have:

2 copies of KoA (through Origin and Steam)
1 set of DLC (through Steam)

I'm just hoping I don't have to re-roll another character, because I've put like, 40 hours into this one.

Got the same here..I didn't buy the DLC's when they were on sale at Origin (3,99€ + 3,99 + 2 = 9,98)...so, even if they were on sale again (Origin), I would only pay another 2 € more to own the complete edition on Steam. That was the main reason why I decided to purchase it again.

Well I have the origin version and the save games are in your documents/my games/reckoning folder.
Why don't you just start a new game and see where Steam places the save games. Then copy and paste the one you want to transfer into the new folder and just see if it works.

Edit: the link above explains how to transfer save games.

Thank you. The Steam .sav files are on an other place than from Origin. That clears the riddle why i can't find .sav files from 2014. In documents/my games/reckoning are only .sav from 2013 when i played KoA at last with origin.

Read the post in the link guys, that clears up how to use the old .sav files :friendship:
