[SOLVED] Can't connect to EA server and DLCs gone?

Wanted to play original KOAR but I see from menu screen "Not connected to EA servers"... and no more mention of the Teeth of Naros + Legend of Dead Kel DLCs I owned :(
Tried to reconnect to EA account but it fails every time.

I can still play the game, but what about DLCs (since login fails due to servers shutdown)? They are lost forever even when installed from Steam or they are automatically activated? I see no mention of installed DLCs, as it was before, from main menu... (there is just a "You're not connected to EA servers" warning). So I can't tell if they are activated or not!

thought I would test things and went to Ettinmere, south end, went in cave, talked to Helyc, fought through cave and exited the southern passage. starting rites of passage quest which is part of Teeth of Naros DLC. have not tried the others. if that is any help. one DLC appears to still work

I've just noticed the World Map still shows extra mini maps for both DLCs in the upper-right and lower-left... This probably means they are indeed still playable even with non-working EA server login.

Fortunately we bought it on Steam, since I saw a thread on the EA forum with users (who bought it on Origin long time ago) complaining that they couldn't even load old savegames with DLCs enabled since servers were shut down.

As far as I can see the Steam version +DLCs is safe.

I just bulldozed through the menu saying it couldn't connect to EA servers. I haven't tried to get to the DLC areas yet but I haven't had any issues with any other areas of the game.

Press M to open World Map. If you can see the additional small pieces of map in the upper-right (Legend of Dead Kel) and in the lower-left (Teeth of Naros) it's ok, and DLCs are enabled and playable on Steam.
