Other than that, i guess you could go for Dokkalfar,
Since your character is slain(by tuathas I assume?) and most of the regions, in the midst of the war, belongs to that race, Mel Shenshir... Rathir... A close past with Alyn shir...
And I must say Mrs.Dokkalfar in that game tends to have a... Delightful choice of clothing
Fae wouldn't make sense at all, since the whole premise of the game is that you weren't supposed to be able to come back in the first place.
That said, any of the races make sense lore-wise. Though the Alfar may make slightly more sense, as the war is being fought directly on their doorstep.
Even tho, they said they knew Fae came back to life at a certain point, they could've been doing tests on one of them, accelerating the process, who knows, but you're right, it doen't fit *perfectly* with the current speech/lines, they would have to change the script a little for that path.
I agree. All four playable races have at least one lore-friendly reason that makes them a viable answer for this. Varani are explorers, travelers, and mercenaries, so they're all over the place. Ljosalfar and Dokkalfar are on the front-lines of the Crystal War, because their soldiers are besieged in Mal Senshir. Finally, there's a lot of Almain in the Warsworn, so they're fighting alongside the Alfar Army.
