I also have read that the Remaster seems to have loads of technical problems i have never experienced in the old one, neither in my PC Version nor the XBox360 Version i own.
I would say stay with the old if you can. It has issues like the camera looks too much onto the ground when traveling, but is otherwise a pretty good game.
And by the way issues like that also weren't fixed.
Read the stickies if you want info on the game.
Graphics have been updated somewhat. Not a huge change from what I've seen so far. I only play at 1080 so don't know what 4k looks like. Some of the textures have been changed. Numerous collision detection errors as well as some UI bugs. The UI itself seems fine, but some of the pop up notification windows have their text cut off.
Overall, the game plays fine but some of the bugs you run into makes you think that they had their B team working on it.
Graphics are such a small update that it isnt worth the buy if you already own it.. Sound is slightly improved, the extra Hardcore difficulty and the new Graphice FOV slider and texture settings..
The map is still confusing (no proper quest markers),.. basically its just the same game... however, what I would say is... Its finally alive again, and I hope theres more updates to come... but in its current state.. it isnt worth buying right now... even with the 60% off
Mine crashes on exit as well. You can get around this by saving and then minimizing the game. Once minimized, you can close the game window by clicking on the X. Steam will treat it as though the game closed normally.
Exactly.. I re-installed my older steam version and it plays and runs perfect.. theres also a graphics mod on NexusMods..
They haven't given any information on the "expansion", except to say on the remaster's store page that it's 5+ hours long and will be out next year.
If they put the same amount of effort into it that they did into the remaster then imo it won't be very good.
The original had 2 expansions which you in the end you got in one fairly priced package, one of which i haven't even started yet because the base game alone has 100s of hours of gameplay.
So it might be interesting depending on how much effort they put in to remedy what they did to the remaster, but i won't mourn not having it any time soon.
They simply took the old game and patched her. And they added new bugs. And they released it as if they had made great changes equal to Destroy All Humans. And even more expensive. And add a little dlc that has a fifty percent chance it will turn out to be a joke. Well, isn't that laziness.
So if you have the old game, play it until they put real effort into the new game.
And they released it at a terribly low price.
