My first playthrough took me around 100 hours without the expansions, that included completing all side missions and actually reading the lore content I could find.

I am currently at 622 hours played. There is a lot of fighting and if you play as a fighter vs rogue vs magic guy it plays very differently. I would say replayability is high. The stories are intricate enough so those stay interesting, as well... at least moderately.

There are also unofficial mini-games within the larger, such as trying to bring all skills up to the maximum level. I am on-track for that in my current game (as a pure mage).

The flow of the game is excellent and there are many different terrains and wide-open vistas. It is... pleasant to play as well as sufficiently challenging.

It has me interested. The world looks kindaaa like Fable and I like that. I didn't know you could create your character and play different skills. I'm looking for more like 2 handed or daggers and bloody fights!

Worth picking up the bundle then huh?

Thanks!

The Rogue uses dual weapons as a main speciality, daggers and Faeblades. And, yes, they are powerful. The first time finishing the game for me was with a character like that. If you fucus your character at level-ups there are bonus perks that keep increasing up to level 37 (max is 40).

The fighting is pretty cool. If you take the time to learn the special moves and abilities, they are very powerful (for each type of character). You can blend your character, using 2 or all 3 specialities and there are special perks for those combinations as well. All specialization or generalization of your skills and proficiencies is entirely dependent on what you take at level-ups. You can respec in-game if you change your mind after playing for a while.

I think 100 is too much, and 622 is just extreme. Unless this is literally your favorite game ever, you won't get 622. The replayability just isn't there either. After 50 hours of playing as one build, I doubt you'd want to play another build. Either you wouldn't have been interested to begin with or you'd be bored of the game anyway. Especially repeating same story.

I'd say 40-60 hours.

Sounds good for the price. Bought it just now, thank you all :)

Oh, and you are the authority who speaks for everyone, right?

Please let me assure you and anyone else who cares to read that I only do, when gaming, what is fun, interesting and challenging. The 622 hours of play that I reported was accurate at the time I reported it, but now it is 626. This game is probably in my top 20 games, currently, but it is far, far from my favorite. That time playing was accumulated over years of coming back to it after months of not playing.

Congratulations, Ballistic Angel, on the purchase of the game. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

The average player won't 622 hours of gameplay, and to imply so is ignorant. Sorry I upset you, would you like some fries with that salt?
mpnorman10 Feb 9, 2018 @ 6:51pm
You did not upset me. He asked how many hours I played, I answered honestly and you seem to have a problem with that, calling it extreme. Sorry to inform you but you are not the authority who knows how many hours players will choose to play this or any game. Have you even played and finished the game? Find some humility, man.

And I'm already enjoying it!

Upon review, my last post was probably harsher than it needed to be. The poster was clearly trying to help and be of service to other players, even if not experienced with this particular game. This is only my third or maybe fourth time playing this game and, if it keeps going (still having fun) it will be my second time for finishing the main quest.

There is a lot of game here, as there should be. Those who settle for games with total play times of 30 or 40 hours are getting ripped off... bad, and probably do not even know it. I saw reviews of games (that I did not purchase) with only 3 or 4 hours of game time. Compared with a game like this those games are no more than a demo.

There is nothing wrong with selling a cheap product if its quality is known to the customer, but many times it is not. and the victims are children. Older buyers are more discerning. Out of all the games I rate highly, the fastest take about 60-80 hours for a single run. If there is depth to a game that is nothing. This game, if you are thorough (which I am) can easily take 200 hours for a single run. That is my direct experience with it. One could blow through it much quicker by skipping side quests, crafts, not picking up most stuff, etc., and there is nothing wrong with that style of play as well.

The stories keep going and having twists and surprises even after 100+ hour into the game. There is enough depth and intricacy so it is still fun and exciting this time through, like reading a good book a second or third time over years. The earliest parts of the game that I have played many more times to try out different characters are boring in terms of story and conversations and after finishing this time it will probably be at least months before I do more with it, but even though I have reached the Klurikon continent there is still a lot of game left in the main quest line (with side quests), plus the two DLC areas, each of which is larger than some entire games.

Games I have played over 500 hours (give or take a couple hundred) include Baldur's gate, Wizardry 8, Civ 4 & 5, and the Might and Magic games 6-8... oh and the Eldar scroll games starting with Morrowind. I like games where you build something and it matters, changing the game deeply in positive ways as play continues.

KoAR can be a VERY long game if you want to do everything there is to do.

In that respect 100 hours is not that much.

341 hours here, the trick for me is to play with the hardcore mod, without it I would have way less hours. It makes each encounter very challenging, which i find fun. To me, the replayability also lies in combat and especially the variety of build choices you can make. I just like games that offer the creation of unique playstyles, which is one reason why I have so many hours. The game is also quite rich in content, especially if you also have the DLCs.

Wtf how. I'm simply completing all stuff in Dalentarth alone and I'm sitting at 50 hours, I'm not even finished with Dalentarth yet (the first region on the first continent), this is with guides helping me, etc. Sounds like a cap to me.

Took me around 115 Hours to 100% the game (expansion included). I played on the hardest difficulty. So 100 hours is possible.
