I used to have problems with crashing right at startup. Once I found instructions in the discussion boards "task manager -> services tab -> stop TabletInputPanel (Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service)" I had no problems since.

MS may have fixed/changed this service. its been running for 3 weeks on my pc since the win 10 april update and no games have crashed because of it. the service runs the emoji keyboard also.

Works on my Windows 10 desktop PC (GTX 1070) and Windows 10 notebook (GeForce 940M) without problems. Just played it some hours on the new Windows 10 version 1803 without problems.

Well it worked about 3 weeks ago. Now all I see is the little rectangle with the troll on it and nothing ever happens after that. Restarted, rebooted, verified files, reinstalled. Disabled pen & ink services. Tried the old Origin game resolution fixes. Tried Compatibility modes. Nothing. Game will not start.

Works spiffy on my Win7 x86 box though.

Suggestions?

win 10 april update had some changes.
update graphics drivers?
check antivirus log - might be blocking steam/game
controlled folder access -- if turned on, try turning off.
resolution = monitor size.
scaling off.
