You actually CAN do that. The way game's build system is designed, you influence your build every time you level. This also happens when you respec. You're not confined to any single build, because the ability to change it at a whim is always there; you've just gotta talk to a Fateweaver. So because the basic idea of NG+ is already IN the game, adding it in would be redundant.
That's not what the basic idea of NG+ is. What you're describing is respeccing.
New Game+ gives the player the opportunity to start the game over from the beginning, often at a higher difficulty, with all their character development carried over. This allows them to replay every bit of content in the game with that level of character development.
Respeccing does not allow the player to replay all the content in the game, it merely allows them to change their build. Changing your build is not what NG+ is about. Furthermore, your claim that having both respeccing and new game+ is redundant is further refuted by the fact that there are many games that have both.
Anyways, New Game Plus would really be the cherry on top for Re-Reckoning. It’s a simple feature. It’s only as complex as they want it to be.
With that being said, I honestly am pretty doubtful that it will ever happen, unfortunately… A man can dream, though.
