Best time to start the DLC content?
Is there a particular level or place in the storyline that is a good point to start the DLC content? I know in Witcher 3, many people finish the core game before the DLCs. Not sure for Kingdoms.

How do you do your run throughs? Main questline then DLC? Pause main for a while in the middle? Something else?

Theoretically you can start the DLC once you've reached level 10 and the entrance location of the DLC. However becuz of the way the game is designed, the content of the region including loot is locked to the level of your character the moment you enter. It may be wise to leave the DLC to a later stage of the game.

I'm waiting to do the dlc until I finish the game myself. I feel like with how much content there already is in the base game it's probably best to focus on the main game first.

To expand on @CursedPanther: Most of the game is level locked for loot and enemies; levels shown here: https://www.neoseeker.com/forums/51070/t1718667-koa-world-map-enemy-levels/. The DLC is not locked, and will change for your character. You can open up the DLC, and go back and forth. But, you need to get through some of the DLC quests before opening up a way back. I did not realize this until I started the DLC. As I had unfinished business in lower level maps I rolled back to an earlier save and am starting the DLC later.

Good arguments on both sides. I tend to do the DLC as soon as I reach the geographic area just because I'm there. If you have Teeth of Naros, you can get higher-end gear earlier than you would in the main story, which can make the rest of Dalentarth and much of Erathell a little easier. Doing Dead Kel allows you to get regular high end blacksmith components more reliably than salvaging, which helps you make top end gear. I'm working my way through Alabastra in all masterwork custom gear. Makes the Tuatha a cake walk.

at max level I would say, tons of loot in the DLCs are based on level
