Should I be looting books and scrolls?
I've been mindful of my inventory space, so I stopped looting every single thing I found. I always avoid books and scrolls like Journals or Manifests. Am I correct in assuming they aren't important, or maybe there are only some of these that are important? This is disregarding the ones you get in quests of course. I'd really rather not waste time and loot every book, journal and letter just to see if reading it gives me something other than bits of someone's story, and then destroying it afterwards.

From what I can tell, other than the ones needed for quests (the Notes needed for the Life's Work quest, the Sacred Tracts for the Warsworn contract board quest etc) and the skill books they aren't really important.

I stole a book from some monastary and it opened a new dialogue option with one of the monks. It wasn't anything important, but it was something new. I always steal the books, read them once, then sell them immediately.

Didn't know skill books were a thing in this game. Good to know, thanks

Damn, I actually do like getting extra dialogue from things like that. I might have to just start looting books and letters now too
