Mel Senshir Balor
I have to say, as a close to medium ranged fighter with a focus on daggers and Chakrams, the final boss fight for the Breaking The Siege questline was just me spamming lightening and ice at Balor's general direction. This is all while not mentioning the weird camera angle making it a tad difficult to aim correctly. In all in, definitely the worst fight in the whole game at least in my experience

Haven't gotten that far yet, so i can't offer an opinion on the fight. But it's good to have a little bit of an idea what to expect. Does the camera angle drop you below the floor or ground textures? (Had that issue a few times in big fights, managed to deal with it, but yeah, aiming was difficult).

The biggest problem I had was that I really couldn't tell when my weapons did any damage. Balor is big so you're going to be fighting the top half.

I'd be throwing out my Chakrams but since the camera didn't want me to move it from where it was facing Balor, I had no idea how far from the edge he was or if my throws were even in range of hitting him. It was actually worse when he decided to go on the attack because then I'd be aiming sideways and it was awkward as hell. Basically, depth perception is going to be an issue here.

I went to look at the wiki and apparently ranged weaponry is better suited for this but when I was actually doing it, I wasn't thinking "a bow would be better" and thinking more along the lines of "wtf is going on"?

I'm glad I decided on holding off doing it though. I'm a level 30 with about 600+ health. Every time he hit me, he did about 150 damage since my defense is basically dodging (shields are wasted with me) out of danger (which was impossible to tell how far I had to go to do that) and I just wanted it over with. I'd take the hit and spam lightning and ice attacks and use mana potions to keep me fueled and health regen potions just in case he had an ultimate attack

I'm all for new combat approaches but this wasn't at all enjoyable in my experience

Ah, okay. Understood.

So with my Greatsword, I may not be able to see where i am hitting or if I am hitting. But from a short range with a Staff or Scepter, and spamming Mage skills and maybe Quake/Aftershock (and chugging Mana and regen pots, lol!) might work better. I have ZERO skills in Bows, Chakrams, Daggers or FaeBlades. I may need to respec and keep a good ranged weapon before I get there.

Thanks for the info. :)

Hmm... I don't think Quake would be much use given he's not actually standing on the battlefield

Well, scrap Quake/Aftershock then. xD

Respec will be in order before I go to MS. And that will be soon, if I stop trying to explore every single inch of every single map... xD

Dude I get it. I tried to follow the main quest after 25 hours of f**king around and exploring. I think I lasted an hour before going off to do the Travelers/Warsworn quest lines and a ton of side missions lol

I did it with only melee weapons. You have to role forward or backwards to avoid his laser attacks. He will slam his fists into the ground. You run at them and hit them, this will deal damage to him. If you can deal enough damage to his fists he will fall forward and you will be able to attack his head more.

I admit it took me a little bit to figure out that after it slams it's hands into the ground, you can attack them for a decent chunk of damage, but yes, that's the method.

I was doing it as a Might/Sorcery build with a Longsword and Chakrams, myself. I had a bow in my inventory, but Prismere Longsword (160+ Power) vs... what, like a 60 power bow...? Yeeeeeah, I TRIED the bow, but....

Lol I'll take y'all word for it. I'm not going to go back and test it out. :D

I can't remember my first fight against it (many years ago) and havent gotten to it this second time around, but I am sure I had no issue the first time since I was mostly a mage. Now as a melee dagger/faeblades/bow user, I am finding the game rather challenging, and still find myself going back to magic for things like trolls or larger enemies. Even if I can stomach the damage they do on me, I just cant kill them quickly enough before they pummel my HP to dust. I'll keep this in mind for when the time comes.
