Shepherd's armor missing?
I just started a new game after a lengthy hiatus. The chest in Gorhart is supposed to contain the three types of armor (for mage, rogue and warrior), but also for the shepherd's armor and accompanying weapons for the preorder people. It used to be in the chest, but this time when I got to Gorhart, it wasn't there. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Like I said, I had a rather lengthy hiatus from the game, but I know it had been in that chest.

That happened to me before and after an eventual uninstall,/reinstall the armor was back where it belonged. I don't know if there is an easier way to do this; it is the only way I am familiar with.

I'll try it. Thanks.

Good Luck. I know I was in a bit of a panic when it was gone. It's not the best armor but it's a decent starter set for a caster in particular given the low requirement for it's much less squishy then some.

I tried that. Reinstalled twice. Still no weapons or armor. Oh, well, c'est la vie. Maybe they will pop back up later. A dead game like this, no one is doing any maintenance on it. Too bad it didn't survive. Was sort of hoping for a sequel.
if it was dlc armor you're not missing out on anything. they were mostly just to give you a boost for the first 3 levels. you'll find better within the first hr after the tutorial.

Idk if you care anymore but I figured it out you just need to be logged in to your EA account in the main screen and it will show up in the chest when you load a save

In the KOA Remake by Nordic games, the Shepherd's armor is back. It never returned to the original version, though.

Old post, I know, but the set is not gone. If you've started a new game and the set is not in that chest, the solution is to exit the game to the main menu, then go to Options → Online → Connect to EA Account, and log in with your Origin credentials (email & password). It just takes a few seconds. After that, go back to the game and you'll get the message that you've received something and need to go to that chest to get it.

I played this game back in 2014, and I'm replaying it again now in 2023. My character was Level 7 when I remembered about Shepard's armor set. Went to that chest and it was empty. Doing what I described above was how I got it.

Not anymore. Apparently the KoA servers shut down May 15th of last year, so the Shepard set isn't available anymore, according to EA. Which is total and complete bullsh*t because EA's servers are still there, and I still get all my extra sh*t in ME2&3 (the Blood Dragon armor from Dragon Age: Origins and the Reckoner Knight armor from KoA:R), so the Shepard set is still there, EA is just too ret*rded to bother allowing people access to it, because they want people to play the Re: Reckoning version instead.

So, because EA is totally f*cking useless, the set can't be accessed anymore in the old game. I still have a save file from before the shut-down, so I still have it in that file, I just can't start a new game with it. And what the hell is up with there being no New Game+? If there was, we'd still be able to access the old stuff even *with* the shut-down.

It came back for me in the re-reckoning version. So I don't know what happened.

I don't know either. I'll try again later and see if it's back, but if not I may just have to bite the bullet and get the Re:Reckoning version as well.

To clarify, I am playing the Re-reckoning version. Haven't played the old one since the new one came out.

Okay, I just played through the very beginning of the game again, up to the point where the chest is located. The Shepard's armor set is there, along with two other sets. So for me it is back.

Well at least I know the DLC stuff is included in the Re:Reckoning version. It's not too pricey, either, at $40. And the Fatesworn edition is $55 so not horrible all told. Still, I might wait until it goes on sale.

I bought the Re-reckoning version because I wanted to support the new devs, and to encourage them to consider a second game. How the original sells might impact that. I have started a long-overdue replay of Morrowind. But now that I played a little of this, I am torn between them.
