Towing Brace
I can't seem to install it, the requirements don't seem to be able to be satisfied. The plug icons seem to not want to be on conduits/walls, even though they need to be powered, and the airlock needs to be enclosed. So I'm at a loss, anyone able to help?

afaik, the dev says they're currently unusable, just dock to a ship and then drive it, ignoring the 'dont move while docked' warning.

This doesn't damage your ship? Patch notes says it would.

... just tried today and yeah it does now, it didnt in like... almost literally the last patch. whoops.

THAT SAID, i still don't really know anything about the towing brace. its possible it needs to be placed at the edge of your ships 'range', where the ships you dock to normally end up?

That's my problem, if I place it where the docking port is it won't place, it goes red on the two tiles with the little electrical plug icons on them (which on everything else are expected to be walls with conduits) as if it's expecting conduits but no walls, but if you take the walls away there then your airlock is open to space. And if you put walls elsewhere to seal that space then it won't place for those other two blocks being filled...

So how the heck did you manage?

best i can tell, the footprint spot is like the 'door', 5 wide and facing outwards... and the space 2 'outwards' also needs to be a walkable tile. the lights face outwards... but i cant seem to get it to place anywhere either.

I got it to work today. The two conduit tile requirements need to be placed two tiles behind the airlock door so that the furthest part of the towing brace is in line with the airlock door. You also need to remove the walls where these conduit tile requirements are.

I also was able to place one, though I have no idea if it works or not. Ed has the placement right.

It seemed like it was operational for me.

Yeah, had the same issue. Until I noticed that the wall straight down from the airlock need to be removed.
Sometimes the red tint on tiles while placing stuff is hard to see.

I could see it was red, but it would've removed airtight so I didn't think it made sense, it was asking for power there.

It doesn't remove airtightness because the towing brace is a wall itself. So you need to uninstall two tiles of walls on either side, where it's requesting power...

Got it, thanks! If I can ever find another one now -.- that doesn't installed only 1 of the 1/2 item instead of both.

Course I know that's now impossible, since all wrecks have been explored ... definitely not 100 unless some of them spawn in different places i.e. not anywhere remotely within the K-LEG region, I've gone well past the ring of markers even at this point.
