How is it for sandbox play right now?
One of the things I love most about this studio's last game is the open-endedness of it, just sailing the black void and looking for your own fun. Cyber Knights grabbed my attention early but lost it somewhat quick due to a lack of this mechanic, but I know this studio's update pace and it's been a while since then.

So I ask: At this present time, how viable is sandbox play?

Depends on what you're looking for. In EA currently, you play through the existing story content, and then can do as many Proc-Gen missions as you like. Myself, I've been having a blast doing this. Building my team, running different heists, building my base. Essentially it's sandbox play, and with each update, the sandbox just keeps getting bigger.

That's pretty much what I'm after. Just the freedom to take jobs as I please without being on a "clock", so to speak. At least not one that ends the game on expiry.

No doom clock will be featured here. At the end of big game storylines, you'll have a chance to retire or decide to go back to the street for "one more heist" (and we know no one stops at one ;) k)

Nice! Good to know. :) XCOM 2's doom clock shook me a bit so I'm always wondering when build-your-squad games will make me end early. Glad to know I can cyberpunk it up to my heart's content here.

And then some! I have multiple playthroughs, trying out different builds for the characters and team as a whole. And now, with the introduction of a new base room (with another soon coming), you have to make some hard choices about what you want in your base. So many options!
