Does sound like you missed a big one, Carnivore, a corrupt cop intro.
We're working on the first story / mission addition for the next update, coming soon. Then we have another mission slotted for the update following that. We hear the call for "more" and won't sit on our heels, updates are coming.
Also, we've done some reprioritizing to move proc-gen missions higher in the list and started active work on implementing that system this weekend.
if that legwork fails, it just takes longer.
I'm thrilled to hear that. I would love to be able to play a team until I feel like I'm finished with *them*, rather than finished with the current content. But I imagine that some people would prefer a more streamlined experience with strong narrative focus. Personal taste and all. I'm one of those nerds whose eyes light up at the words "sandbox" and "open ended" :D
Exactly, people are so different. I, personally, am perfectly happy creating my own goals and form my own storylines around what is happening, but I am under no delusion that my personal taste is in any way more valid or justified than what others like.
From baseball to chess, most of the classic "games for adults" have no narrative at all.
What would you call a game with a narrative? Also a toy?
Thanks for all the feedback - we're busy working toward adding both story and proc-gen created storylines.
Sorry there will be text in our game <3
After the recent trend in indie games (mostly copying Tunic, I think) where there is no text or the text is in gibberish that needs to be deciphered, I fully support the use of actual legible text.
Yes, but this is the InterWeb, only mine is the right one, obviously.
I don't have the game yet, but I'd like to put my vote in for content, procedural or otherwise over narrative. Generally speaking, unless the narrative is really good, this is a one and done thing and can limit the game to a single, or very few playthroughs. Ultimately for me, content (like mechanics and strategic depth) is what keeps me playing (and paying for!) games.
Anyway, keep an eye on our update roll. We've got plans ;) and a proven track record of delivering lots of updates.
