Content? is that it?
So I went thru the tutorial, the chronos mission 2 parts , the Octane mission 2 parts , and Dead Drop mission and it seems that all the content there is currently?
did I miss something ?

The dev team has said that the current EA has 15-20 hours of content. But the game is planned to be in EA for "9-12 months" and during that time they will add a ton more content. They will publish a roadmap soon, but adding "random heists" has been pushed up their priority list due to this type of feedback.

Does sound like you missed a big one, Carnivore, a corrupt cop intro.

We're working on the first story / mission addition for the next update, coming soon. Then we have another mission slotted for the update following that. We hear the call for "more" and won't sit on our heels, updates are coming.

Also, we've done some reprioritizing to move proc-gen missions higher in the list and started active work on implementing that system this weekend.

Carnivore requires a particular legwork, right? That can be easily overlooked in the dialogs. And the legwork has to succeed.

if that legwork fails, it just takes longer.

I'm thrilled to hear that. I would love to be able to play a team until I feel like I'm finished with *them*, rather than finished with the current content. But I imagine that some people would prefer a more streamlined experience with strong narrative focus. Personal taste and all. I'm one of those nerds whose eyes light up at the words "sandbox" and "open ended" :D

A game without a narrative is a toy. The narrative gives me the feeling of having goals that matter and of achievement, when I make progress.
I don’t like narrative, unless it’s some short sentences to give a feeling. I prefer the game being almost text-less, and conveying it’s lore etc from pure gameplay, visual, sound... feedbacks.

Exactly, people are so different. I, personally, am perfectly happy creating my own goals and form my own storylines around what is happening, but I am under no delusion that my personal taste is in any way more valid or justified than what others like.

Narrative isn't the difference between games and toys, being able to win or lose is. Plenty of games don't have narrative. For example chess.

From baseball to chess, most of the classic "games for adults" have no narrative at all.

What would you call a game with a narrative? Also a toy?
Love the sampling of opinions here on the thread - basically got the whole spectrum of story tastes right here :D

Thanks for all the feedback - we're busy working toward adding both story and proc-gen created storylines.

Sorry there will be text in our game <3

After the recent trend in indie games (mostly copying Tunic, I think) where there is no text or the text is in gibberish that needs to be deciphered, I fully support the use of actual legible text.

Yes, but this is the InterWeb, only mine is the right one, obviously.

This^

I don't have the game yet, but I'd like to put my vote in for content, procedural or otherwise over narrative. Generally speaking, unless the narrative is really good, this is a one and done thing and can limit the game to a single, or very few playthroughs. Ultimately for me, content (like mechanics and strategic depth) is what keeps me playing (and paying for!) games.

@desertfox071 - I think we will be able to deliver spades on the type of content depth your seeking by the end of Early Access. We tend to make very deep games. Even with the starting 6 classes, the combinations of builds is hard to put a number to, and we'll add 6 more :) proc-gen missions, proc-gen story engine and the underworld Contact simulation will give you lots to work on. And with 20 enemy Factions already in the game, we're working to ensure each of these have a unique set of enemies, abilities and Talents (there are some great variations today across the major ones, but much much more is needed to round out the vision).

Anyway, keep an eye on our update roll. We've got plans ;) and a proven track record of delivering lots of updates.
