It wasn't doing this last week but has started for me now when trying to start a mission
The game has been updating every so often but the updates are not being recorded on the store page.
type ' Advanced Scaling'
select ' Fix apps that are blurry'
Turn off that first checkmark box
I also adjust some compatibility options by right clicking the main executable in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\CONTRA ROGUE CORPS
and selecting 'Options' and then Compatibility tab
For all users I set
Compat for Windows 8
ticked 'Disable Full Screen Optimizations'
ticked 'Run this Program as Admin'
It's working again for me now
I didn't want Windows 10 -- I was bullied into it.
I was using 8.1 previously and knew were all the telemetry, adware, etc was being stored. I also knew my Task Manager very well and what was unusual to find running in it.
Windows 10? M$ has gone and hid the telemetry and troll-processes by running a bunch of system crap at the same time which should only be in taskman when in use.
And you can turn the crap off but then one update leads to another and Windows, like an entitled child, goes and switches all the crap back on.
I have tried to permanently turn off Edge and OneDrive from umpteen different sections in Windows and they always manage to sneak themselves back on again.
Funny thing is, I don't think M$ has all this crap running to protect themselves, I half suspect they're uploading people's ideas, changing them just enough to avoid lawsuits and then selling those ideas to production houses who can race them into retail long before the original artists, authors, coders are finished.
Being that Gates stole the code for windows to begin with, I don't think you're far off from the truth.
