I was trying to find what's redeemable, but there is no way I'm paying 40$ for a 30 FPS lock.
but in a 3D game? oof.
There's a game " Dusk Diver " that had a 60 fps demo, game was rocking - they released the game to EA - hardlocked to 30 fps. completely ruined the experience, and then they axed the demo bc it was 60 fps, and the $30 game was not.
FFWD to about 6 months after release, and in october we get our 60 fps.
yes, the FPS makes a huge difference in a 3D game. I'll never understand why any dev would choose to go against the grain and make a game hardcoded to 30 unless there was a very specific reason for it ( like game maker, speed = fps, and perhaps 30 is the ideal rate , etc )
I think they were going for switch exclusivity and the game has the switch as a baseline, hence the poor textures/fps. A shame really, I really liked the demo, but I was like there is no I'd get it on switch with that terrible performance, a PC version would be perfect..
At least that game supported Keyboard and mouse and ran at 60 FPS at launch.
Game engine of the year?
Okay, but still a lazy made game like their Metal Gear Survive.
you can make some good looking games with Unity. I believe Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair was made using Unity.
If no, i will refound the game.
I've take it with halloween sale
I doubt most of you even know what fps is. you are just carrying this nonsense on and on and on.
bottom line here, you can take one of the most graphically demanding games (ie ffxiv) and set it to run at 30fps..AND IT WON'T MATTER. YOU CAN BEAT THE GAME. THE DIFFERENCE IN DETAIL BETWEEN 30FPS AND 120 FPS IS HIGHLY IRRELEVANT. YES IT'S NOTICEABLE, BUT IT'S ALSO NOT THAT BIG OF A DEAL TO BE TRASHING GAMES CONSTANTLY OVER.
steam needs to shut this crap down. You shouldn't be able to review a game like
"30 fps, i bought this poop"
"30fps no thanks"
When I buy a game, the last thing i give a flying crap about is the frame rate.
i bought this game for my friend. even he will say games should run at 60fps. He played the game, AND THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT. THE 30FPS "wasn't the issue, since the game was designed to run at that frame rate". What was the issue, was dead multiplayer (probably due to all the nonsense bad reviews) and looter shooter mechanics. He did however recognize that not everyone hates lootershooters or wants to play a game online.
What's also highly disturbing about all of this, is last time i checked, less than 10% of the words home gaming computers are capable of running games above 30fps anyway..SO HOW DID THIS EVER BECOME SUCH A BIG DEAL.
interestingly enough, 30 ppl have reviewed this game, 2 people liked it, and the rest jus twhined about 30fps.
30 reviews, 28 negative is hardly even a valid statistic, not even sure why it even displays the user review stats with such a low number.
just ignore me, don't reply to my comment, read it, and hopefully learn something. otherwise, not interested in hearing any input from trolls.
If 90% of the worlds computers can't run games above 30fps then 90% of the world needs to get its ♥♥♥♥ together and upgrade their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC and throw away whatever ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ toaster they call a computer. As for how it became a big deal it's called progressing technology and when you have a good job and make adult money you can afford nice things and have the expectation that they should work as expected when you spend thousands of dollars on said tech. We have more than enough games to fuel our needs these days if developers don't want to step up to modern standards then they should expect reviews and sales to reflect that honestly this should've stayed on the nintendo and then its quality would have been understandable to a certain degree.
the game is good,
you just need to turn down your settings so it runs 'smooth',
the fps lock doesn't really make a difference other than the actual slowness your gpu trying to render everything causes.
If I put my settings to 'high' yeah it runs slow, if I put them to medium or low it runs fast and smooth,
it's playable, fast and tight regardless of the 'fps' cause on low settings it runs fine.
I admit it's dumb you can't change settings until after the tutorial, and yes it runs 'slow' at first,
but you can change the settings after and then it goes fine.
Doesn't look that great on low, but the game offers a ton in terms of upgradability, gameplay, replayability of missions, mission types,
Legendary cool unique mods, tons of body part upgrades, all kinds of cool stuff,
I'm loving it and about time we had a deep upgradable twin-stick,
you guys should give it a chance it's a lot better than what you would think when you first start it up (!!)
