how the heck do I get y'owl

is there a trick to catching a y'owl? I've tried at grabbing one as it runs by and at holding the gloved hand out to attract it, and neither has resulted in me getting y'owl. I'm clearly missing something about the process.

you dont hold out your hand you grab it and run back upstairs to your room because it's night

i got it by figuring out the path it takes and standing in the way of it, that way you block it and it just ends up stuck against you and you can easily grab it that way

I have the exact same issue, I don't even know what the thing looks like or where it is, let alone how to grab it.

she mentions it's gotta be outdoors, near fire, and at night. where's a place that's outdoors and has fire present? try being there when you start getting disoriented at night.
