Does it actually contain any strategy?

Is it me or is it purely a tech tree grind as the trails are so short and so few squares that I am struggling to find or even work out a strat apart from the usual latest tech tree aquisition.
After 2 hours thinking this must get harder than me just placing more towers and winning levels 1st go with relative ease and a confused expression?

Simple solution: Try setting the difficulty to 'Insane' :)

The campaign tries to ease you into things.

If you want to cut straight to the chase try "Survival" instead of Campaign to get the full, classic game experience.

It’s a very deep game even a lot of the active playerbase doesn’t seem to understand all the towers
