Kinda weird to not have multiple elements in multiplayer modes.
At last, the multiple elements that counter each other is THE pro point of the game and i found the mix of having several elements in a wave to be what made it interesting.
Ok, so i have to deal with the fact that somehow there are targetting options that dont have a core mechanic of the game in mind.
Major oversight and flaw if you ask me. Both of the above.
As for "why does multiplayer lack the fancy stuff of the Campaign", it's because multiplayer was created as a faithful adaption of classic WC3 style (rebalanced and adjusted as needed, of course), whereas Campaign was developed later on and we decided it should be:
We are considering a multiplayer mode that adds the fancy stuff of the Campaign over, or a modifier that uses the Campaign's unlock system at the very least.
I havent played multiplayer yet, mind.
But basically i like the way the campaign mixes elemantal types and spawns monsters with different strengths and weaknesses and me having to prepare properly to meet them.
I also like the way they are spawned from different portals, in case thats also no thing for multiplayer.
So i would love to see you at least doing a coop mode, maybe as an option, that spawns the monsters the same way as the campaign does (ofcourse not scripted), mixing them up.
It could very well be an option to tick when creating a game.
Personally my main goal with Element TD2 is to play it with a friend in coop, maybe in team vs team later.
And thus my main interest is how dynamic the coop mode experience is, that its a bit unpredictable, meaning that i have to plan for having different towers ready for a wave that spawns two or more elements.
And that type of randomness would allow us to play much longer and stay motivated to play.
Which means, if you could add a option that provides that mode at least for coop, then that would be great.
Well and on top a way to focus target on specific elements.
I like the game, its good, it needs some polish and variation though (regarding polish, the german translation is severely lacking and there are typos throughout the campaign, even for english text).
The progression system of the Campaign alone pulled into Multiplayer would let us do so much more. 55 waves + endless bosses? Psh, we can go to 100 waves. The reason the current game caps where it does is because the moment you go to 12 element picks, the game's balance is shattered. Level 2 6-ele wins by default, nothing comes close to it.
However, if you're just gaining 1 unlock point per wave, and you have to unlock every tower manually (upgrades as well), then not only do you improve flexibility by a huge amount, but you won't reach that exponential spike where the game's balance breaks.
So yeah, we're well aware of the cool things Campaign has and we want them in a Multiplayer mode at some point. Can't confirm when it'll happen though, or to what degree.
It would be much better to have the normal coop mode support mixed waves.
But well, you now know a few necessities or wishes.
Thanks for the answers.
