We are keen on improving the UI/UX. If you are so inclined, any specific recommendations, especially what would have prevented confusion, is very welcome.
But also, im confused about when in-game i want to build a dual tower from another one, but i dont have a clue what tower is the one i need to upgrade. I keep wasting a lot of time clicking on a tower and see the icons to see if i can build the dual tower im looking for... because again, there are also no tooltips anywhere.
More than that, i just got a little annoyed about the quantity of mobs that appear on the screen. Not my style. I love tower defense games but this is exagerated lol. In the last stage of the campaign 3 it was just ridiculous. Less quantity of mobs but more challenging would be way better.
Mousing over a tower there highlights which one are needed to make it.
Mousing over Nova for example, highlights Lightning, Solar and Bloom, so you know that those 3 can be upgraded into Nova (also highlights Light, Fire and Nature btw).
Also note that you can click on an available tower there to directly build it without having to go through each stages.
That means you can directly click on Disease tower to build it without having to make a Darkness or Nature beforehand.
PS: the same highlighting exists when putting points in the tree before a campaign mission.
That's a Darkness/Nature tower, as indicated by the elements icons in the top right of the tooltip. That means you'll need both those elements to unlock it, and that it can be upgraded from either a Darkness tower or a Nature one.
Now, let's say you're aiming for a Polar tower.
That's a Light/Water/Earth tower, as indicated by the elements icons in the top right of the tooltip. That means you'll need all three elements to unlock it, and that it can be upgraded from a Light/Water tower (Ice), a Light/Earth tower (Atom) or a Water/Earth tower (Geyser).
No crazy shenanigans.
And as mentioned in my previous comment, you don't even have to remember all that, as simply hovering the tower will show you what it can be upgraded from and what it can be upgraded into.
Also, there's a beginner guide available on steam here by the way: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2360427994
We are going to add a big question mark button on the campaign loadout screen. Either 1.1.1 or 1.1.2. So very soon. Click it and it popup and explain all of the things you were asking about earlier.
Would that have been sufficient for you looking back?
NM just found the load out I had to select one of the tower trees at the top. I think I got it, would never have solved it if I did not ask though :)
I think I was looking for it to actually say "Dual upgrade" but its more of build a arrow tower then unlock the skill tree then say turn that arrow tower into a water tower. To me it looks like a single water shooting tower but I guess its shooting arrows that look like water = dual.
