Nyeh Nyeh.
This is indeed fantastic to hear.
I will also try to help by trying different ways of doing things and see if I can narrow down some of the issues, maybe.
Kind Regards, Jay.
I uploaded the savegames just in case...

One thing the dev suggested with saves was that if you load a saved game and there are objects that you can't interact with, that are floating or float away, you can re-save then reload and it will free up the objects, dropping them on the ground so that you can pick them up.
I have done that and it worked to get my items back.
Maybe with the trailer its treated like a normal object and not like the car to where it just loads in with all the other objects, so possibly why sometimes it just dumps them in the spot and doesn't recognize to load the objects inside the trailer where they were? Just guessing...
Maybe try unloading the trailer when saving, or unhooking it and see if that makes a difference ?
Another thing i'm going to try is to just drop the items in my inventory on the ground when i save and see if they are in fact still there. Maybe that would help to isolate that it is in fact the inventory system itself that is bugged.
I think with unity, it just treats objects as being in your possession but not necessarily if they are inside another object unless it's something like a car, where it can say that it is installed on the car. The trailer isn't like that when objects are just laying in it, it doesn't count them as being "installed" in the trailer.
I know the dev already mentioned creating mounting objects so that you can mount objects onto your car and possibly the trailer etc. That may cure that issue with missing objects.
I have a problem with the game,
every time it starts it returns to windows screen and sometimes back to famous blue screen !!
help-me
When you have items in inventory and you save, then re-load that game, the items can disappear completely.
If you re-load that game again, the items with appear but be floating and you won't be able to interact with them.
If you have floating items you can then save and then re-load that game and that will put them on the ground, so that you can get them.
(this was confirmed by the dev)
Also, if you have the hose in inventory in any slot when this is happening, for some reason the game will reload with you holding the hose in hand.
Hopefully this info will be helpful
Thanks a lot for the testing, for me the items vanished definitively.
My savegame gone lost with my char been loaded under the road. I´ve been able to recover it opening the game outside Steam, then I was flying then arrived alive over the road again! :D
I reloaded 5 times in a row to see if your experience solve it but all my stuff just still gone away: inventory and car´s glovebox and trunk. I lost binoculars, hose, light, gun, pellets, 3 goldbars, 1 trophy, 2 tires and 1 oil can. Reloading dont gave me them back. :(
500km and counting...
Its something loading the buildings... try what I told before, low down the resolution and deatils to lowest possible and test if minimize the problem. Open the steam game folder, right click "long drive.exe" file, select "run as administrator" and "disable fulscreen optimizations" on advanced screen.
I lost AGAIN another savegame, @Genesz and @Nyeh Nyeh, I found that if I am not over asphalt or sand whenever saving the game it bugs... when reloading the savegame I am in a infinite fall with cars and everything in screen... free fall of death! :(

This might be a wrong avenue to explore, but from my PoV, it seems like the game sometimes "forgets" to keep certain items in a player's inventory when loading, causing them to drop to the ground (this appears to be semi-confirmed with Foxtrekker's testing upthread). And since the hose is a physical embodiment of physics glitching, it probably flings off to god-knows-where when it spawns outside of the player's inventory due to other issues with loading a game.
Maybe overhaul the hose a bit? Have two models? A coiled, static version for when it's being manipulated or otherwise spawned in-game, and it gets switched out for the physics-enabled one when it is used as a siphon?
When loading, if you pause before the "Loading" text disappears, it often let's the terrain load in time. If that doesn't work, if you want you can send me your save files and I can move the car and stuff onto the road so you can at least continue until hopefully the terrain comes back?
When the game freezes after running just fine, a good fix is to disable smoke + grass, put the frame limiter down , decrease or increase draw distance.
In my experience the game performance and crashing seems to be in relation to how much CPU Cache you have ?
Are you on the latest patch? The most recent beta should hopefully have fixed the items not loading bug, hopefully even the hose.
We've found that when items did not load in inventory , going back to close to where they were put away in inventory seems to bring them back. It appears like its determined on when you put it in your inventory. You can try drop everything and pick everything up again before saving and it may help with loading all items
If you're talking about the Pumpkin patch, I was on it. Otherwise, no, considering it just frakkin' downloaded at 11:50 AM (12:01PM as of this posting.)
Yikes! No wonder people kept loosing the hose; the "last time" one uses it is generally the last time they siphoned gas from an abandoned car, which could be like 20-30km behind...
Yeah, never had a problem when I did that. I switched over to not doing that because the latest patch (now the 2nd latest) said it should've fixed the inventory bug.
