I'd suggest personal inventory so can use rifle and katana the proper way.

Also items to collect, like card collection or stickers for the car giving you a reason to keep going forward. Also rare items like hood ornaments or fancy hub caps.

Adding some type of danger like zombies you can hit with the car or dispatch with the katana.

More parts for the car like windshield and car windows can break and replace, headlights can break and don't forget flat tires.

Larger places to stop and explore and alot more scenery, gets boring seeing the same cactus and rocks over and over.

Ofcourse the routine survival stuff like hunger and thirst and health.

what do you mean by personal inventory? what is wrong with the current inventory in the game? the other suggestions are all planned :D

I mean to carry stuff on you, like rifle and the pellets and food, ect. And then can hold weapon like an fps game. :lunar2019coolpig:

you can hold the rifle already with tab, and there is already an inventory, with 4 slots

Keys for every car. maybe for every car (except the one you start of with) you have to find a key hidden inside it? would be nice touch

To me the trees, cacti, and large rocks (though the small ones make sense) seem out of place on the road. I'd replace them with objects like tires, wheels, and other car parts. You could also have other objects like gas cans, oil drums, and buckets. You could even have stripped down cars from time to time.

I think there needs to be more things to look forward too, like maybe directional roads such as turning left or right, and instead of driving for 2 hours seeing nothing It would be cool if there was more things you could see or find.

Well, time to put my collective experiences so far, and suggestions in this thread.

Environment:
- More Points of Interest (POI's).
Having a diverse set of POI's that change up the scenery, maybe collapsed buildings that cover the road and require a detour? As many have said, more variety would help to not feel all to repetitive in your travels.
- Weather effects?
Maybe the inclussion of dry thunder storms, or heavy wind gusts that can physically move the vehicle around. Maybe sand storms, or intense heat waves (Where coolant is used at 5x the normal rate, and water reserves can eveporate over time)

Vehicle:
- Variety in parts, which makes upgrading a fun experience.
At the current, the META for upgrading is fairly slim. By including more vehicle parts, upgrading the vehicle could be more interesting to increase its distance or resistance to weather effects? Such as different types of coolants, batteries, engine qualities or types. Extra upgrades, such as a roof rack, additional lighting, or removal of seats (increased cargo capacity) or spring/suspension. I'm sure that if we put our heads to it, we can indentify many more parts that wouldn't be to hard to fit into the engine, and could influence the vehicles performance.
- Different vehicles with perks and cons.
I've read that you are working hard on vehicles. A bus of sorts, and more 2/4 door sedans are planned. Even a Volkswagen Beetle if I saw correctly? Perhaps some of these vehicles should have small bonusses to top speed, road stability, or carrying capacity (physics, weigh influence) that would offset them to their individual counter parts.

Game Modes
- Normal and Survival
I've read that this is currently under consideration. But I'd love a harder life then the game currently gives me. I'm pretty sure others are also looking for more hardship over simplicity. Maybe in the survival mode, chances of tyre blow outs are higher, water eveporates, fuel use is higher (requiring drivers to coast more and use terrain benefits?) Ofcourse, there would also be some sort of basic needs of eating/drinking and the current options to pee and poop/burb.

But most of all,

Take your time. There's no need to rush this project along, as we can see that you are giving this a fair try. The active interactions with the community will only help you make this game, and in the end, your product a better one.

if you add hunger/thirst/zombies can you make them optional in the options menu?
because maybe sometimes people want to relax a little and not worry about so many things.

it could look like this:

[ ] Hunger Enabled
[X] Thirst Enabled
[ ] Zombies Enabled

in this example, only thirst is enabled
