Fair to be suspicious, but some of the negative reviews were about the single-player experience (the Eternal League is still under construction), or about the state of the game several seasons ago, or about connectivity issues, or about the cosmetic system (which while still imperfect, has been significantly improved and made more-player friendly since launch, with more improvements in Season 7), or about perceived RNG.
(Please don't make this another thread about RNG or statistics reporting - there are already dozens of other threads for that).
Season 7 released in the "just the past few days" and added Norse, a team that wasn't leaked or shipped at launch. Norse are popular, and genuinely different/unique in Blood Bowl tabletop and BB3. Some players are happy to see that.
PvP is fine if players are comfortable playing in the constraints of the Open Ladder. Some players aren't - and now that's okay too! - Season 7 also added a NAF-style resurrection-league format in "Norsca Arena", and multiple team queuing - both common requests from BB2 veterans. Some players seem happy to see those improvements too.
Might be obviously that those will be positive when streamers influence, but:
Like written - the game significantly improved and is more-player friendly since the launch. The bad launch is responsible for the mixed reviews - but a lot of things changed since then. Lots of bad reviews wouldn't stand today.
It has improved and deserves new (and better) reviews.
Most of the recent positive reviews I can see are from players with more than 100 hours playtime, and many are 250+. Those don't seem to be spam or bots. :-)
So I guess many people who usually don't care to write reviews decided to support the project. They just felt like this is a right thing to do, I guess.
Ok, sounds reasonable if there was an update that greatly improved the game there would be more positive reviews. I'm removing my tin foil hat.
@everyone
“Hi (from Nacon rep)
I’m reaching out today with a somewhat unusual request as I would be **asking for your support** on a matter that could make a real difference for Blood Bowl 3.
Since the game’s challenging launch, our team has been fully committed to addressing issues, enhancing the experience, and adding exciting new features to ensure everyone can enjoy Blood Bowl in their favorite way. Fixing bugs, adding new tools and new features, releasing new factions each season: our goal has always been to improve the game and make it more enjoyable.
While we have made significant progress, there’s still more to be done, and we are determined to continue evolving Blood Bowl 3 over the years to come. However, one major challenge we face today is the legacy Steam review score from launch, which no longer reflects the current state of the game I believe. This score impacts us in many ways, making it harder to grow and bring even more to the community.”
I think they’ve done a much better job at listening and helping out communities and the game. As it says you don’t have to but let’s help then keep moving this game forward and adding great things!!

I dont exactly know where it have originally been published, i've seen it copy/past on a discord somewhere.
i personnaly have bought the game, it was'nt exactly cheap so i kinda want the community to grow and see more and more play so i think its a clever move to upgrade the reviewmetric. And i have to admit that i had over 1000 of fun (ok quite a bunche of suffering also bnut i asked for it by spinning a game)
So I also updated my review.
A long while ago, I was belly aching about gesture-confirmed ui elements, making me anxious. They put in an option that seemingly made those click to confirm.
I changed my review.
I let devs who listen to valid feedback, and make actionable steps to addressing it with a lot of warmth....get the reward for that effort.
The devs are people, treat em right...try to imagine their constraints...and the reality of time and action priority. They're fairly nice people. It doesn't take much to appreciate the effort.
As Launcelot says "The truth will out."
On the other hand, we’ve experienced a noticeable “boost” in positive reviews, which aligns with the launch of the new season and the BB3 World Championship. These events seem to have brought a wave of positivity to the community.
Of course, this doesn’t mean everything is perfect—there’s still work to do—but it’s encouraging to see the overall review trend improve over time. We’re committed to making the game better, season after season.
It's a shame that this might be seen with skepticism, but I hope the trend continues in a positive direction. That’s our goal, and we recognize there’s still room for improvement.
