Well, that's better than a poke in the eye with a stick, but just barely. Our hope - I think I can say "our" - is that they use the time to get all the additions and corrections added and corrected properly. It would be nice to be able to spend some time playing in a league, as I did with BB2. Hopefully, I'm a better coach than I was then. Hopefully, the additions and revisions to BB3 will better the game.

I don't think they need to give us any additional information as long as they stick to the roadmap, right?

We are supposed to have a new season/patch on the 25th of May - I am confident that we will have a patch that day that will bring a lot of content and fixes.
But until then they are not obliged to release any information as everything has already been said.

Wait until 25/5/2023 - if we don't have any info by then, we can complain. :bb2bob:

How was being confident on that release day going for you? Its been delayed and we still have no info, can people complain now and ask for details?

that's true but what would you like to hear? That they stick to the roadmap? Or "pre-patch notes" saying what exactly are they going to include in the upcoming patch?
I am sure they are working hard to prove the game is worth our time. Let's hope the season 1 will be a refresh for BB3 :squirtyay:

To be honest, Id be happy to just hear from them, see them write even short notices or messages here every now and then. They dont need to spill their guts, or even detail anything related to their work, just let us know that they are listening and still working.
Because while there is no reason to assume they have abandoned the game, there is also no reason to expect they wont. Todays gaming market is full of games abandoned before reaching even an acceptable stage of development, being weary after this launch and the time since is not unfounded.

If they would just drop a note here every once in a while, that would help a lot. And if they would even comment on the various bugs, suggestions and questions that have been going around, that would be even better.

Listen, I dont want to be negative or overly critical, I actually think the game is in far better condition than what the general opinions seem to be, but I think its kind of sad that its considered somehow wrong to expect communication on a regular basis from the developer of a purchased live-service product that BB3 is.

In any case, I hope like you that the 25th will be the revival we all hope for!

I know. You and @mrsir are right. I understand your point - at least we were given some information, although it was not the happiest info we've imagined..

I wish we had more updates or info from developers - it really helps to keep people interested in the game and help to build trust.
I am hopeful that these things are going to improve and frankly, a season delay is better than a release full of bugs.. that would be a last nail to the coffin.

Let's hope the season 1 will be really good!

What information did they give?

I think they were banking on the per-player-customization-warpstone-sales-as-profit a little too hard. The community rioted. They rolled it back but now their profit margin is in danger. Not making as much money? Reduce support. yadda yadda yadda... there's one dev left on the dev team and they ain't got *time* to leave us love notes...

And once they release all of the teams, they'll put us on life support and sell BB4. The live service model was not what this game needed or can sustain.

Bingo. This ship is sinking fast after their absurdly greedy monetization plan collapsed under the weight of initial (righteous) outrage. Now they've all jumped ship, probably leaving a couple unlucky saps trying to keep it afloat with like, 3 guys and one bucket to use between them.

What they have been doing for the last month and a half - not communicating at all so nobody knows what the hell they are doing or has any real expectations anymore.
If the next patch is not a huge one that pulls this game out of beta, then not only will Season 1 be a flop but its likely to be the only season we get. The game has been out for nearly 3 months now and it still has mainly negative reviews. Even people that defended the game at launch, such as myself, are changing their reviews to negative.

Twitchers and Youtubers have switched back to Blood Bowl 2 !!!

So true!
For me, in no particular order..
Game needs the same league/tournament/competition creation tools that 2 had at least.
Needs mutation graphics. (If they're to much work you shouldn't be making video games in
2023).
Needs career history stats.
Needs solo content.
Needs to work.
I've never made a video game but outside of solo content, those things don't seem like big additions. In fact, it seems like they'd be standard here...

Won't happen its at odds with their financial model of selling cosmetics.
what communication you want?
honest "sorry, covid struk us bad, we have sceleton crew, management are complete idiots, we ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and released clearly alpha build as final release, but we are working on making it better. it would be long and rought road but please be with us." *adds EA text on game page*
everybody would be fine with it IMO, people not only want the game, but some respect too.

but no, here what we get: "Ve give you 1000 worpstones, so you could buy one of 3 cosmetic items in dead game, also season is delayed, also we are working NO something, idk, may be fixing buys mb adding more, f*ck you, your copy is not refundable anymore, here. have some uselees contest where you can record your normal play if game would not break on you" (spelling mistakes on purpose to refer to their posts)

I'll be honest, I was one of the people that preached having some patience and wait for season one to drop. I for sure thought that Cyanide would want to have season one ready just to make up for how much they let the fan base down. Now that I see it is going to be delayed I won't be telling people to have patience anymore.

Although since I have purchased this game I have also moved on and purchased and played a few more titles so to be honest I don't even care about BB3 anymore. It could shut down today and it wouldn't bother me at all. It's strange to see people that don't own the game caring more than people that do own the game but I don't need to understand it.

They failed to produce season 1 on time so I don't have any love for them anymore. I'm not going to hang around dedicated to complaining like some have just because I got better things to do with my life but you can count me in as one that doesn't have any belief in this game becoming anything anymore.

If it does cool but I am not looking forward to it now. So let them have it because nobody should be giving the benefit of the doubt anymore, they completely should have lost that with everyone.

As predicted by literally everyone who knows Cyanide and played the betas, the game 'might' be worth playing in about a year... I stress 'might'
A year sounds *real* ambitious
